I dropped 2 hits of acid back in september and anytime i smoke pot i get very mild flashback just the swimming patterns and intensity of shade and light hit me. Is it possible for the mind to trick itself into flashing back under certain situations (kind of in the same way someone has war flashbacks) The thing is i dropped at night and anytime i burn at night it just mimics very small things while on acid. By all means its enjoyable and i have no problems with it but i'am stuck on the fence of me just being really high and wishing and me having the chance of being struck with tiny flashbacks for the rest of my days

Yeah, I mean it is possible. I wouldn't put this toward the drugs themselves but your own ability to cope with what they do or did to you.

The mind is a whacky thing and it can recognize and remember things that we, consciously have no idea about.

For example, I don't know how many people have had this kind of thing happen to them before.

I have been watching TV, a re-run of a show that I couldn't remember and all of a sudden something random comes to my mind... like "carrots"

Then within the rest of the episode that I couldn't remember for the life of me, carrots become a main part of the plot of the show... things like this have happened to me several times.

Maybe when you were high on acid, you smoked weed, and the whole combination was so intense that your mind made a special note to remember what is happening.

The same kind of shit can happen to people that have been to war... think of yourself sitting in the cabin of a large plane with 20 other men ready to jump out of the plane, parachute to the ground and start killing or get killed, carnage, intensity, shock = Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which is pretty much what flashbacks are. Picture getting into a large plane 15 years after you left the war, with 20 other people with parachutes, ready to jump out and parachute calmly to the ground, just for fun, just for the sake of parachuting... there is a good chance that said war 'hero' would freak the fuck out and have a war flashback while in the plane.

I'm just thinking being stoned in general is clicking my mind back into the effects acid had on my brain. But the brain can only do so much without the drug in it. Either way its pretty sick , the whole "dont do acid you'll wake up once day when your 40 and have a flashback" thing never bothered me. I just look at it as a free trip

Your part of the reason some people have such a bad view of acid. Your just stoned, theres no way your having flashbacks from one trip. Its called placebo.

the same thing happens to me. i tripped once in my basement several montha ago, and now when im in my basment i someitmes get that thing where everything seems to be breathing. Especially when im high. but its even wearing off more and more already so i would worry about it.

i know a girl who this happens to... possibly something psychologically influenced by the trip... were you smoking weed during it?

im so fucking happy now though, one of the biggest psychedelic dealers at my school got arrested a week or so ago... which i was pretty fucking pissed about but acid is still in town in large amounts....

i had a weired sort of visual flashback on a long car ride back from spring break, woke up and looked out the window while we were at a stop light and everything was morphing around a bit... just a consequence you live with if you get into these drugs...

This was all in a possibility stand point. If i was busting into trips i would notice but I just asked if it were possible to have reoccuring mini flashbacks due to the mind tricking its own self into thinking i took lucy. It's not a problem and I enjoy it placebo or real. It still happens and iam grateful. I was just wondering if the mind can take smoking bud at night and flash itself back into an acid type dillusion.


I never could understand how a bunch of "users" can be so hostile towards simple questions. I'd never go out of my way to mock a kid for a curious question just to raise my post count

I took acid when i was 16 and smoked heavily on the trip, it was at night, and pretty much everytime i smoked up at nite or by myself , i would get flashbacks. Nothing major just doors getting bigger and smaller walls breathing that kind of shit. I thought i was ganna be like that forever and the weed awlays seemed to trigger it, but it eventually went away after a few years. I found after i had good acid trips, compared to the bad ones i had at 16 that i never got flashbacks anymore.
