So I try a grapefruit for the first time this morning, and found it to be a peculiar but tasty snack. Me being the curious type, I look it up online, and lo-and-behold, grapefruits have a connection with drugs. Wikipedia says it makes many medications dangerous, erowid says that casual drug users use it to enhance the effects...

What is your experience, if any, with grapefruits combined with drugs?

I know it inhibits enzymes or something so potentiates opiates.

Grapefruit juice definately effects opiates for the better.

There has been much debate over how it handles different ones and to what degree, but it's genrally agreed that it lengthens the high rather than increases it.

Plus it tastes nice, win.

The furanocoumarins in grapefruits are what scientists now think causes certain drugs to be potentiated by grapefruits. I think they inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme.

Neither one of those contains furanocoumarins or any other chemicals that would inhibit anything except for maybe angiotensin creators. Just a placebo.
