Default Does anybody else find that opiates help for concentration?

Sorry if this has been done before (because, honestly, I highly doubt that it hasn’t), but does anybody else find that they’re able to concentrate better after taking a low-ish dose of opiates? I can hardly ever do my work without slacking off, but I’ve found that on the rare occasion I have 15-or-so mg in my system, I’m actually a lot more productive.

It’s kind-of funny, because, judging by my recent research on neurobiology, opiates actually seem to be a legitimate cure for ADD (or whatever you want to call it, if you don’t believe in it). Of course, I’m not saying that doctors should start prescribing hydrocodone formulations in the same manner that they prescribe Ritalin, but it does make sense, doesn’t it?

Err, I feel I’ve strayed a little too far from my original topic…. So, am I the only one here that works better on opiates, or is that ordinary?

Pot helps me concentrate, and stimulants give me the energy to do the shit I need to concentrate on, so, it's all good.

I do know what you are talking about though. I relate that mild feeling of stimulus to being just "in the zone".

Feeling good, relaxed, but energetic, and it seems everything just goes so smoothly.

I find I have alot more confidence behind whatever it is i do when im on opiates. Almost to the point where I feel 100% sure that what im doing is right...like my side of me that questions my actions is no longer present, not in a bad way where ill do wrong things because i feel like im god..none of that shit.

Just makes me think less and enjoy the good life of being free with my actions.

I certainly am content doing anything on opiates but more to the point I find oxycodone especially helps me focus. 20mg or so and I'm good for focusing on anything. Not only focus, but I have the motivation too. I was on 20mg of adderall for ADD, did nothing except make me a bit cheerier so I didn't mind doing shit. Then it faded away. I managed my tolerance with magnesium but apparently it still got to me.

I don't think either medication should be prescribed. I think there is an issue within the mind that can be resolved in order to give you the motivation / focus. For me it was mood. I now focus substantially better, not to the point that I'm a focus master or anything, but to the point where it's improving my life. All I need was to love life and that's what got me focused.

i just made a topic about this 2 days ago, regarding information retention and light opiate usage.

I too notice that, i reason that well: dopamine is dopamine but..... i believe what matters is which dopamine brain circuitry mitigates it.

So yes, slight dosed do increase your productivity......nevertheless at a price of next morning blues.

Haha, no, but I was thinking about stealing some from the medicine cabinet, considering I have a 30 page report to turn in tomorrow... and I haven't even made it to the 15th page >_>.

And just for the record, when I say steal, I don't mean that I'm taking them from anybody that needs them. I'm talking about taking some pills that are years past their expiry date, and my parents decide to keep around because they are smacktards. Mad

Opiates always seem like a good idea to me.... Got a report to write? Opiates! Your brother is inviting over some hot girls and it's making you feel nervous? Opiates! Your dog just died? Opiates! Nuclear holocaust? OPIATES!!!

I used to go to school on about 80-100mgs of oxycodone a day. Needless to say by my third period, AP English, I wasn't doing so well as far as concentration goes while nodding out. Usually I wouldn't nod at that dose but I think it had to do with the fact I was sitting down for over an hour and bored off my ass. But first period, Band (I play the upright bass :)), was fun as shit, and I could read music and remember my scales no problem. I really miss those days. It's weird being clean. It seems like interactive learning is easy on opiates while lectures are worthless. I remember reading my English notes later on and not being able to read them because they were so sloppy.

I always wrote my AP essays high and I'd get A's. Opioids help my writing out alot. I get so into everything and my thoughts become free flowing. Like my friend always told me, "I like you when you're high. You think everything's amazing."

I'm being nostalgic. I'm still adjusting to being 'normal'.

I understand you there...

i'm kinda glad getting opiates on a constant basis really isn't possible for me. this fentanyl has shown me that it's really hard for me to keep my hands off opiates...

Actually, yes. Sometimes when I take Ultram, I get into this groove where I can get amazing amounts of housework done.
