My friend has gotten into distilling his own drinks and he built a greenhouse out his back garden to grow herbs to infuse into his drinks. Its a pretty fuckin good idea if I ever get the money I'm gonna do the same thing. So far he's absinthe, a datura infused drink he calls devils water (nobody wants to drink that one) and a catha edulis infused drink. It tastes like piss like all his drinks so he calls it cat piss. I don't know shit about khat but I think the main alkaloid is methcathinone.

I'm dead positive the khat effects the drink because it keeps you up all night. It doesn't really have much noticible effects but hes trying to grow all sorts of exotic plants at the moment to infuse into his drinks. I suggested he add wormwood to his khat infusion. He can call it green fairy piss.

Has anyone else here made their own herb infused alcoholic drinks?

Honestly I don't know much about khat either, but I am fairly certain there is NO MCat in there. If there was there wouldn't be the legal ambiguity surrounding it, and it would be out right banned.

Wormwood would be kind of a waste if you think you're going to get some weird effect from it. Absinthe does not get you high. There is more thujone content in a few drops of sage oil than in a whole bottle of absinthe. You might as well just buy some sage oil and put a few drops in the drink. Either way you aren't going to get high. Dunno if this applies here or not, but absinthe is legal in the US anyway www.drinkupny.com being one source. Of course the cheap factor comes into play, but I'm sure homemade absinthe will taste like piss since you can't make it like the pros in Switzerland.
