Mkay, so almost all school year I've been taking Vicodin. I recently quit a few weeks ago. But for some reason, I have a habit to steal my girlfriends Asprin and taking about 4 or 5 of them at a time. I'm not sure why, but when I take the Asprin I feel a whole lot better. Could this possibly be linked to a habitual thing? Idk, I think its rather strange.

Being an ex pillfiend I know what you're talking about. I find swallowing pills comforting, and you're missing the Vicodin so you have to find something to fill the void. It's slowly going away for me, I wouldn't worry about it.

I find it in the same category a some people when fiending for coke snort a random white powder. I've seen a friend do this.... made me pretty torn inside to see a friend so vulnerable.

It's a stigma that is burned in your head. It's a belief that your subconscious state operates upon. It's the "I'll pop a pill and feel better" idea. That's just as much a part of your addiction/habit as the actual feelings the drug gives you. I'm not saying you were addicted or anything, but i didn't realize how much i needed or wanted pills until they were completely cut off from me.

When people go through rehab or quit or whatever, these little thing turn into triggers. I'm guessing you think about vics everytime you pop some pill. It's the subconscious making a connection that a pill will satisfy your mind's physical and psychological needs, and give you that good feeling.

Mind over matter. Remember that.
