Ideas/Concepts you have learned on hallucenogens
I feel like everytime I trip on some sort of hallucenogen I learn something new about myself, other people or society.
What are some of the things you have come up w/?
This might be better suited for humanities, but I want to see if the drugs cause certain thought processes moar sothen philosophizing sober.

Mostly true.
One of the things I've learned a lot about is the large percentage of our population who wear masks to better fit in and be trendy in a society where fitting in is...well... all too trendy. Many people are afraid to show their true selves in fear of being judged by those around them, and somehow held in less regards because of this.
I have also learned who my true friends are, largely related to the above statement.
Always think for yourself.

The masks we wear are a form of a defense mechanism.
You can realize that you are wearing a mask, but you will always wear that mask. Well, at least some mask or another.
Sometimes it's just better to not know what's behind someones mask.
This subject reminds me of my smoked datura experience, it was like the mask of the entire world around me was lifted, and it was fucking terrifying.

Re: Ideas/Concepts you have learned on hallucenogens
One of the only things I learned from psychedelics that I can explain I learned from acid. it may sound stupid but it's just that the key to happiness is to just let things go. Don't overanalyze things whether they're good or bad. If something is good, appreciate the mystery of its existence as part of its goodness, dont feel like you have to try and understand it. If something has happened that is bad, knowing more about it isn't going to help the situation. Just forget it and move on.
Basically, wonder and awe >>> knowledge

That human beings need to view other human beings who are not the same as them, have different beliefs and values or behave in different ways, as just being a different peoples instead of looking at them as a threat or a problem and starting some type of conflict over it. Basically this is the idea of cultural relativism, but I had no ieda thats what It was when I thought it up. LSD is great.

I really hope that no one adopts that philosphy because that would be a very dangerous thing to human kind. I think I know what your getting at, but you need to be more specific. Especially because people will eventually start to be taken advantage of, and this is when knowledge would come in very handy.

I'm not saying this goes for everything. Obviously in many if not most circumstances this is a bad idea. Like I said its hard to explain, its definitely not a open-yourself-to-cons and oh-well-there-goes-my-life-what-can-i-do-about-it type of thing, its more of trying to regain a childlike sense of wonder at God and the world instead of trying to understand and control everything through science.

Re: Ideas/Concepts you have learned on hallucenogens
The power of love and giving.
That your not gunna have a fun memories if you hoard all your drugs and dont get high with other people. Im saying that because when you look back in your past of drugs use, the times that really stick out are the ones where you were with other people getting fucked up(for the most part). I dont really remember all the days and nights at home by myself getting high on whatever, but I remember alot of the ones where I got high with good friends in fun places. Or times when i got high with someone i just met, you never forget the first time you get high with someone. Not to mention if you share your drugs they will prolly hit you back, and it could bne a strian of bud you never tried or a drug youve never done. I dunno I learned that while i was tripping once, but its a lesson you can learn not tripping.
I also learned not to close doors i dont have too or burn bridges with people, because you never know who you will meet thru someone, even if that original person aint so cool.

Re: Ideas/Concepts you have learned on hallucenogens
Through psychedelic use and meditation, I've learned to control and inflame or dissipate my emotions, desires, and viewpoint. I've come to be able to see things even from a close minded person's perspective, even been able to come around to not be close minded to close minded people. I've come to believe there is knowledge in all things seen and unseen, and have come to find that perception defines reality in all ways.
The only thing I can really explain though, is this: things are only as bad as you let them be, even in moments of dire peril and strife we must remember that all we need to be happy is contained within us, and it is all under our control. There's a quote bouncing around in my head, I can't remember what it's from, but it was along the lines of, "they mock us, call us poor and mad. But they taunt us from behind the bars of their cage. There's a palace in your head, learn to live in it always."

Re: Ideas/Concepts you have learned on hallucenogens
Here is a list of things I wrote down on a recent Morning Glory trip:
acid can be used to lengthen the lifetime by altering the perception of time
the six genres of music each audition to their audiences through their music
I also wrote a poem, which makes little to no sense.
Enjoy.
Untitled
The music rumbles me
The hand is a spider
Vision requires intense photo-recognition software
Or is it in the consciousness?
How do we know?
One suggests 10^26 power of brain
One suggests just a short step 10,000 years long
That makes us not far from animals
Yet, we can do this.
Is it something more that defines us as human,
How do I this?
To learn, monkeys see and do.
But Im flooded with thoughts
I just cant pick!!! AHHH
Humans think of new ideas in ways that animals just cant
We invent advanced technologies and monkeys are sitting there trying to figure out which banana looks better.

I don't know how I came to the number six, but it seemed right, and I think it means that they all like try to get people to buy their shit through music because that is their medium. Obvious, maybe, but highly enlightening at the time :)

Also I was playing CoD4 online about 10 minutes before I peaked (so pretty intense, 9.5 g of MG), and I told everybody I was high (weed) and tripping on LSA which is kind of like LSD. Everyone started flipping out, saying shit like, "If you take acid 8 times you are legally insane." and "You can get stuck in the trip FOREVER!" I went batshit insane, the amount of ignorance in that room mad me so mad and I yelled at all those stupid motherfuckers. But they might have been messing with me, I'm not really sure. That was random haha my bad

Right... I've never had anyone scare me while tripping. I've had the mindfuck over power me before but never a person. Hell, I fell like a demi-god on t7 with my hair growing and swaying like little snakes. Looking at my hand as it pulsates and fills with blood along with the hallucination to create growth of your hand into a paw. You feel like you're being transformed into demonic beast...

Re: Ideas/Concepts you have learned on hallucenogens
One of the biggest things I have learned on 2c-e that has actually helped my sober life is the concept of percptions and misinterpertations.
In a nut shell:
Anything that anyone does or says can and will be percieved and (mis)interpertated in any number of ways. This can lead to good or bad, obviously.
Depending on the person, they will tend to interpert things like they have learned to live their life through their experiences.
Personally, I am very pessimistic, untrusting and paranoid. If someone says something I could easily percieve it as them trying to call me out or get me introuble if they don't say it correctly. Obviously I have no control over other people and I'm not going to ask everyone everyware I go to make sure they are very very clear while talking to me.
I now know that I have a habit of misinterperting people and to not take anything personally, ever. If I think someone is starting bullshit, I'll laugh. If they are starting shit (they probally aren't, I'm just misinterperting it) they will obviously make it clear if I laugh.
The same works w/ other people, if I know someone has very high confidence and likes to laugh alot, I can joke w/ them easily and they will most likely not misinterpert that I am making fun of them. If they have low self confidence/been molested, I could be misinterperted as that so I have to make sure to say "just kiddding" or "I'm the same way" or something gay like that.
Also, the way we percieve things has GREAT control over our emotions. If I go thru life thinking that "the man" is trying to "keep me down" (I don't, I'm using this as an example) I will feel hatred and anger. If I go thru life thinking the man is trying to protect me and may be over protective, I will feel secure and intelligent in the fact that a) I'm being protected and b) I'm getting around the system.
Anyone can choose to percieve any situation any way. If I was jacked by someone, I can percieve it as "wow I'm a bitch I lost my money this sucks" or I can percieve it as a learning experience "never come to a drug deal w/ a random drug dealer drunk and high"
I cant fully explain what I've thought but this has helped me HUGE.

I've learned that the whole world hates me and that I've gone crazy, and the rest of my life will be live in paralyzing fear and panic, and that I've ruined myself, and I can't commit suicide because that would bring more shame, and the people I associate with are disgusting, just like me, and that I'm a horrible person without a concience who's lost his fucking mind, and I'm going to end up being a serial killer, just like Ted Bundy, because that's what movie I happen to be watching, and I'm hopeless failure that's squandered his life. Drugs have taught me so much :)

Re: Ideas/Concepts you have learned on hallucenogens
I feel like everytime I trip on some sort of hallucenogen I learn something new... What are some of the things you have come up w/?
- The secret of eternal happiness is realizing not that you cannot prove whether the things you worry about (or anything else, for that matter) even fucking exists... but realizing that it doesn't even fucking matter if anything exists.
- I am not myself; I am the universe, and the universe is manifest in me. That which I think of as "self" is an illusion - there is no point at which the molecule of oxygen stops being the plant which respires it and becomes the atmosphere, nor is there any magickal point at which the molecule of oxygen stops being the air I breathe and starts being me. I am the plant. I am the stream, and the rain. I am the breeze. And without all these things that are me, there is no me - without air, I am not, without food, I am not, without the universe, I am not. All is one.
We are merely pieces of the sun, brother.
- Evil is merely the distance between ourselves and the good intentions which started the whole damned mess. Hitler just wanted to help the poor and starving, but it eventually became something else. Etc.
- We could build a better world, if we could only pull our nose (and narrow focus) out of this one long enough to think of something new.
- any still-frame pr0n .jpg is secretly an 8-hour pr0n movie complete with vivid action and detailed storyline... whether you like it or not.
- We're some pretty fucking pathetic, disgustingly biological, silly-looking monkeys with absolutely no clue what we're doing here on this earth.
- Despite this, we can somehow manage to sometimes do pretty okay.
- Cops do not exist. Governors do not exist. Presidents do not exist. It's all imaginary, and all there are are a bunch of goofy-looking monkeys wandering around naked in an anarchistic wilderness.
- Children are saner than adults. When children play make-believe, they know it's imaginary and do it for fun. A cop actually believes they're a cop, rather than some goofy-looking primate wandering around carrying a gun while waving shiny metal objects in leather cases for what is honestly no discernable logical reason.
- At this very moment, there are six and a half billion people experiencing the exact same petty, pathetic hopes, dreams, fears, and wonderings as you, not to mention a shitload of trees, fish, spiders, insects, birds, and the like which are also experiencing several of the same thoughts, dreams, hopes and fears as you. The really trippy thing, if you think about it, is that they are all doing this at the same time. Seriously fucking mindblowing, dude - try to cram them all into your conception at once; that's the world from a God's-eye view, whether there is a God or not. Trippy, huh?
The really crazy thing is, if we just acknowledged this, instead of pretending we were the only ones and everyone else is what they show on the outside, we could finally start moving forward into a better world which serves the people in it.
- I love me. I love me a whole fucking lot. I'm logical enough to understand that I love me by virtue of the fact that I am the being which most resembles myself, and that if I were someone else, I'd love me for being the person which best reflects those traits instead of the ones I have now, but this does not change the happiness I feel when I finally break down and realize that I am, in fact, the most beautiful thing in existance by the perspective by which I evaluate everything-which-is-outside-me... even if it is cyclical and self-supporting. It's, like, a huge burden off one's shoulders to judge one's self by how much one manifests the core of one's self. Pretty cool.
- a second is 9.8 m/s/s in the direction of "down." Just in case you have to point to sompleace which is exactly one second in distance while still remaining the exact place you are at. That's the really cool thing about gravity, man. It's just time pointed in a spacelike direction.
---
Etc. You probably get a bit of the picture.

Be thankful for your existence.
Concept I gained when I first tried shrooms. It just hit me how ridiculous the odds of life starting on Earth were, and I really learned to appreciate my meager life.
Pretty cool evening that was. After all the profound-ness, I ended up staring at my Alex Grey posters and giggling all night.

I was staring at the stars, pretty stereotypical right?
I realized how small and obsolete everything we do is and that because of that, that I needed to spend less time stressing over pointless shit and more time enjoying the people and places around me and just trying to continue to find out about myself.
Needless to say, it dropped my grades a bit, but I'm a way more healthy and happy person because of it. Realizations like that got me really interested in psychology too which is cool.

I really hope that no one adopts that philosphy because that would be a very dangerous thing to human kind. I think I know what your getting at, but you need to be more specific. Especially because people will eventually start to be taken advantage of, and this is when knowledge would come in very handy.
When you say it like that, I think thats something the world needs right now then.

I should be happy to simply be alive, as long as your breathing you can still change the course of your life...

Re: Ideas/Concepts you have learned on hallucenogens
Kind of like what JoePedo said, I learned that we are not special, spiritual beings. We are animals that can think, and our wild imaginations have created the economy, Christianity, borders between "countries", etc.
And everyone in the world rolls with it because that's just the way it was when they got here. I imagined some of the most ridiculous shit in the world, that somehow all old professional people have just lost their child-like qualities and become big stiffs who adhere to the rules for reasons they cannot even fathom. It is sad to think that a beautiful baby with all of it's innocence and potential has to grow up and learn about stuff that was made up in school then grow up and lock societies standards into his mind and get offended when they see certain things, and smile on other things- just like everyone else.
Also I thought about how weird it is that there is a cycle: children grow up, do "bad things" behind their parents backs, then grow up and expect their children not to do them, and on and on. It's like somewhere along the line, people forget how to have fun like they used to and are content watching TV every evening.

Re: Ideas/Concepts you have learned on hallucenogens
I learned that Joepedo can take his time to type a much more meaningful response about what he was talking about. And I have proof! A whole two pages to be exact. ahh the joys of old totse.
As for me, it is me.
