Any of you ever do an extraction on Psilocybin Mushrooms?
If so how and what was the final product like? was it worth it?

well I just wanted to extract it into a powder and put into gelcaps to take later whenever I feel I want to alter my state of mind. I know there really isnt much of a point to extracting it but to me I find it convinient. I already googled it and know about methanol/ethanol extractions which is pretty simple. but what I wanted more was as anyone done a extraction and what was the trip like, does it differ greatly from fresh/dried mushrooms?

Stop it you frenchies, we need the discussion in english so others interested can understand. When I think about it, how would you make a simple extraction so those allergic to mushrooms can take it?

i took a shroom capsule once. this guy i knew had them for $20 a pop. one of the most intense trips ive ever had.

if your alergic to mushrooms, i figure that you shouldn't have a problem with the extraction since it would be psilocybin that your ingesting, I dont think you should be affected. but I wouldnt assume anything, id test it first to see if a reaction happens.

a capsule could easily be dosed to either a mild buzz to an intense trip. the extract is very potent so only small amounts are needed to create the same effects of a large dose.

Ya, I did it in like 8th grade lol. It looked like this blackish blue waxy thing and tasted shitty just like shrooms. Anyway, it fucked me up pretty good I went to this little christmas party that my parents friends were having and they had a fucking magician and I was just spacing out really obviously the whole time so I told my parents I had insomnia and I was so tired I was seeing spots and shit. Anyway, from that point on I just got to trip out at this christmas party lol. Surprisingly, I could sleep on it, it put me in a pretty good mood, and it was a standard 7-8 hour trip. Good times.

whats the main difference in the 2, I know that psilocybin metabolizes into psilocin. but what if psilocin was taken alone? I just want to know if it would be worth it to get the psilocin out aswell, I know the dosage for pure psilocybin, is psilocin the same?

No you didn't. What you had was failure.

Ethanol is so much safer than Methanol. And you also most likely lose all of the Psilocin from oxidation and that OH group reacting with water's equilibrium.

To everybody above: there is no reason why one would want to have psilocin instead of psilocybin. Psilocybin is a stable form of psilocin. Psilocin is really just an intermediate from Psilocybin to the brain. No matter what, you always get psilocin in the end. As far as most of us are concerned, Psilocin doesn't exist outside the body.
Extracting Psilocin would require enzymes. Psilocybin only requires some everclear; a cool, dark place; and a few weeks. In any sense, extraction definitely pays off. There are few things nicer than IV 4-OH-DMT. :)

There could very well be a difference between a psilocin and psilocybin trip. Just because psilocybin is metabolised to psilocin doesn't mean it feels exactly the same, the two chemicals could have very different properties crossing the blood brain barrier.
