All the intravenous users I've ever met all say they shoot up towards their shoulder. I know I've read before that this is bad because it is going against the blood flow and you are supposed to aim the needle down toward your fingers.

Which is the "correct" way? Is it "bad" to shoot up toward your shoulder?

Arteries carry blood away from the heart, veins carry blood to the heart. You shoot into a vein, so it is going with blood flow, and gets carried to the heart. Shooting towards your fingers would be shooting against blood flow.

The correct way is to shoot with the blood flow, so in this case, towards the heart.

As for problems shooting against the grain, I have no idea. I don't shoot.

The blood in any single vein, vessel or artery (whatever the fuck you want to call them) will only flow one way.

It has nothing to do with blood flow. Technically you could shoot any way that you want, but for the sake of not hitting a nerve or paralyzing something it's best to shoot up.

The correct way to 'shoot up' if your BlackPope is to kill yourself. That usually works the best.

You shoot towards your body, unless you enjoy blowing out all the little valves in your veins that stop backflow from occurring.
