Why does it hurt if you miss?
What is phyiscally going on under your skin when you miss a vein? whats the best way to make it stop hurting and the swelling to go down.

I dont think there is anyway too. Unless you got some opiates or a local analgesic like lidocaine. Make sure it doesnt get infected tho.

Well it could be some very minor internal bleeding from the punctured vein, especially if you went straight through it. Also if you actually injected then you are at risk for an abscess. Pressure from the injected liquid can cause discomfort or pain, but doesn't mean something is wrong.
You need to apply heat to the area, and elevate it. It may stay swollen for over a week, depending on the situation. I need more info to get more specific.
