Don't campaign for cannabis legalization, campaign for cannabis licensing.
You would have to pay a little and take tests for a cannabis license. Basic written and practical tests; REALLY basic stuff like properly putting out a joint so that rocks won't accidentally start a fire. My roommate set fire to his bed that way once.

Also, make it SERIOUSLY illegal to sell cannabis without yourself being specifically qualified or to an unlicensed person.

Since most of the black market will be licensed to unlicensed, it will still be safer weed and no easier to get (it's already no effort to find shit that will cut up your lungs.)

Make it illegal to drive a car within a certain length of time of consuming. Imprison those who break this law.

It definitely seems a more realistic goal than legalization and has the safety factor that the squares need to feel reassured.

i dont think it would work, A. people wouldnt bother taking the test unless it was effortless and free.
B. unless you're buying your weed in the shittiest of places or the uk there isnt much chance at all of adulterants.
C. as far as i know there is no test for cannabis in the time frame similar to alcohol.

Actually, I beleive this is how the cannabis laws are already, Except in order to get a license you must have marijuana, and if you have marijuana you get arrested. So its lose lose. How about we just get every marijuana user in the united states and march on Washington for legalization? Would work waaay better and we would get to demonstrate our loss of constitutional rights.

Alcohol isn't LEGAL it's CONTROLLED, and it works for the most part.

Well you want to aim for legelizing and settle for licenseing.

Yeah, personally I've always been for licencing of drugs. You need a way to keep addicts away from drugs while letting people that can handle them use them.

Graduated licensing would be neat too, where it would be easier to get a license to do a drug in a special, gov't run tripping facility ten to do it in your house or in public.


A good test would be to let someone do a few lines then let them chose between doing more immediately or getting their license.
