Anti-MDMA, meth, etc antibodies
I can see it now, a group of government spooks armed with rifles containing tranquilizer's darts coated with antibodies to quickly turn your speed-freak-on-a-ravage into a docile turd. Either that or putting this stuff in the water supply.
But who am I kidding? We all know the government works both end of the drug game and isn't going to sacrifice precious profits. Or will they? Maybe they've completely given up and are reduced to making the life of yr average raver a living hell. Who knows? Read on.
In recent years, crystal meth (methamphetamine) and ecstasy (MDMA) have become some of America's top problem drugs. Meth can cause severe problems in the cardiovascular and central nervous systems. Furthermore, because there is no way to remove the drug from the body, therapies tend to focus on treating its side-effects.
But antibodies that bind to methamphetamines and methamphetamine-like compounds to effectively remove them from the bloodstream could change that. Michael Owens, director of the Center for Alcohol and Drug Abuse at the University of Arkansas, US, and colleagues claim to have developed a way to generate them.
The team have not yet tested the antibodies in humans, only in rats, but they say that a single injection can reduce the level of drug within the bloodstream for several days. By binding to drug molecules, the antibodies prevent them from reaching tissues like the heart and brain, and mark the compounds for clean up by the body.
Owens says that his team's antibodies bind to many drugs from the same chemical "family". Cocaine and nicotine are single, specific compounds but methamphetamines share a basic chemical skeleton with many other drugs. So-called "designer drugs" are made by modifying this skeleton to create specific effects. The team say their therapy works for meth, amphetamines and ecstasy.

Re: Anti-MDMA, meth, etc antibodies
This is a method to stop acute drug intoxication, right? Not necessarily a vaccine, such as the one for nicotine?

Right. It's like an "anti-venom" for meth, rather than a "vaccine."
The antibodies will eventually die off/be destroyed by the body, and won't be around to bind to the meth molecules.

Re: Anti-MDMA, meth, etc antibodies
There are already a number of "vaccines" that have already been made and tested, and MANY more in the works. www.cognitiveliberty.org has a good article on them.
But honestly, I think a chemical or antibody like the one in question is a good idea overall. As long as it isn't permanent, which it doesn't appear to be.
It could be used to stop overdoses, and calm down people who are freaking out shooting at trees they think are people.
I knew a guy years ago who cooked dope, and his toddler daughter managed to get a hold of a quarter ounce of the shit, ate it, OD'd and had severe brain damage from it.
Maybe something like this could have saved that childs mind. Now she is in a permanent semi vegetative state.

Fuck man... that is sad.
My question is though... how could any ANY! being at all taste Meth and continue tasting... But either way, that fucking sucks.
Now, I have heard of this, and it wasn't recent, it was yeeaaars ago, and it was when I was listening to the radio about the lead singer for some canadian band... they guy was hooked on coke, and went through some experimental procedure that rendered cocaine absolutely useless to him... and he kicked the habit well.
Not only for tree shooting psychosis... but for people that only need say, 2 months to really lose the physical habit... this kind of thing could help, they would try to take as much as they please and nothing happens, then they have to deal with withdrawing once and for all.
I am sure it could work...
And I don't think meth is a big enough problem that they will start spiking our drinking water with this shit.

Spiking our drinking water would be a fuck of a lot cheaper than their current methods. SHHHHHHH!
