Alright so I have done DXM quite a few times in my past (up to the 3rd platuea.) and I also had been taking the prescription Allegra. A non-drowsy antihistamine.

So, I was browisng through the DXM FAQ on dextroverse.org and I was looking over drug interactions. In there it said: DXM should not be taken (recreationally or at normal dosage levels) with the prescription antihistamine terfenadine (SeldaneTM). This combination has been fatal. It goes on to say: Incidentally, this probably applies to other non-drowsy antihistamines, such as ClaritinTM and HisminalTM as well; avoid combining them with DXM. Never mentioning Allegra per se but Allegra is a non-drowsy anti-histamine.

I researched the drug tefenadine and found this It was superseded by fexofenadine (Allegra) in the 1990s due to the risk of cardiac arrhythmia caused by QT interval prolongation.

So Im asking myself now, is it safe to use DXM while taking my scrip? I cant decide. For one hand I think it may be safe becasue Allegra replaced the dangerous drug for the reason dextroverse was saying and two (although I know this is based on foolish logic) I havent died or had abnormal effects with past usage.

So is it safe for me to use both? Or should I stop taking the allegra before I use DXM? If I should stop, how long should I wait before using DXM, keeping in mind Ive been taking Allegra everyday for years on end?

Also if anyone else takes allegra and uses DXM let me know your experiences.

I know that this is technically not allowed but if you look I did post in the DXM thread first with no replies in several hours. I would rather get banned, than let my health be affected, so please help me. I wish DXM was not bannished to one thread and sorry for making this one. Also I guess If you want to could post here if you had any concerns with drugs you were taking and thier interactions with others, so this thread is not soley about DXM.

Their's no negative interactions, and it may even help with the body itching, and rashes if you get them.

seriously, just go up to the counter and ask if there are any possible interactions with taking robitussin and allegra. he'll give you an answer thats way more qualified than anything you'll get here.

Pharmacists are jackasses and don't know SHIT without looking it up. A high school kid could do their job. They only thing that qualifies them for having that job is being able to legally dispense drugs. That's it. That is all they are good for. Every other aspect of their job can be done by ones self with google.


They are glorified fucking bean counters and drug dealers with permits.
