Default Chloral Hydrate, Somnote, Noctec

Anyone have any experience with this med? Just left the shrinks office and dropped it off at the pharmacy. Im scripted 1-2 tabs of 500mg each for sleep. Ambien, Lunesta, etc, none of them help me sleep. This is pretty much the end of the road apparently. There is no information on erowid as per experiences.

Is it really as potent as these google searches say?

I know they were used as 'knock out' drops(date rape), but so is rohypnol and personally its never knocked me out.

Any info would be appreciated, lemme know please.

See also: I was asking about personal experiences.

I unlike most others have already read through wikipedia, google, and erowid.

It makes you sleep. Short duration. Mainly for issues with falling asleep. Unfortunately a tolerance is built very quickly and you have to constantly increase your dose. I would investigate other methods for modifying your sleep schedule.

I've wanting to try Chloral Hydrate for years. It's hard to get now. I've heard its just like taking xanax or k-pins, but whatever, I still wanna see for myself.

The same shrink scripts me 8mg of xanax a day aswell. Xanax even in extremely high doses doesnt make me sleepy anymore. Ive been on it seven goin on 8 years.

Personally this chloral hydrate stuff isn't all its cracked up to be. Took two of these semi large eerie red pills about 45 minutes ago, felt a bit drunk and now it seems to be wearing off, but I do feel a bit tired.

My pharmacist looked at me like I was insane and sent me to another pharmacy to pick it up. He said he hadn't seen anyone scripted it in 10 years.

I wonder what the dosage is/was when used as 'knock out' drops. Because 1g of the stuff isn't very heavy.

I seem to remember it being talked about in the book Dracula lol. Why do you have such a high tolerance to everything man?
Ambien knocks me the fuck out....
Try asking for seroquel if your shrink is cool about you requesting shit. I took 200mgs last night and I was out hardcore.

No need honestly. I have a quack shrink who will script me anything apparently. 60 liquigels with 5 refills.

He told me to give the office a call if this didnt work as well as we hoped, but I dont know what else there is.

Were not going to be going down the anti-psychotics route either.

Its a real shame in the US you cant take midazolam outside the hospital.

Even though this is a pretty horrible drug im going to give it a shot at 2500mg or perhaps more on Friday.

1g and it makes me slightly drowsy and a minor drunk type feeling for the first 30 minutes.

so you're going to take 2 1/2 times as much?!

jesus slow down. you got an unlimited supply take 1500mg next time. and more later if you need it.

we had 3 members die by overdose this month, learn some common sense about gradual dosing.

that shit seems easy to make....

hell wikipedia states it was made in 1832....

Chloral hydrate is produced from chlorine and ethanol in acidic solution. In basic conditions the haloform reaction takes place and chloroform is produced.

4 Cl2 + C2H5OH + H2O → Cl3CCH(OH)2 + 5 HCl
