Do cigarettes expire?
I assume they would after a long time, but how long do cigarettes last? Especially if kept in a warm place?

Yeah, I've heard this too. I know people who stick their cartons in the fridge.

Re: Do cigarettes expire?
Well...people who smoke them sometimes do.
They do become dry. I've not used chunks of potaters in a container with cigs to rehydrate them, but have done that with loose tobacco. It really the drying out that messes with old cigs, the tobacco is still good, just too dry.

Oh okay. I read somewhere the rat poison goes bad and can be really dangerous. I don't care if they go stale, just as long as they don't go unsmokeable.

They can get GROSS..
I smoked a 3 month old pack (had been open, half smoked) from this occasionally smoking girl who was gonna quit.
God...... they nearly made me vomit, they were that bad.

lmao! wow. Yeah they can get stale. Maybe there are brands that taste better than others if they get old. My grandmas boyfriend was an occasional smoker, and he would put his pack of Marlboro Red's in ziplock bag, and store in the freezer. He said it keeps them fresh. I think this would help. hell, iv known people that put there weed in the freezer lol.

Re: Do cigarettes expire?
putting them in the freezer does increase their shelflife. if unopened a pack of cigarettes can be good for like a year or so i think. depends how long its been sense packaging though...
however opened, they go stale fast. 5-7 days sounds right, but if you leave a cigarette out in the open [not in a pack or anything] it'll be stale in 24 hours.
stale cigarettes won't kill you. the older it is the harsher they are. some brands go stale fine some become unsmokeable.

I've heard the freezer thing too. I don't do it though.
Places that sell smokes never keep them frozen either. As long as it's an unopened pack you're good.
