OK, so let's say someone had 8 ounces of decent, mid grade marijuana buds, what's a good method to get hash from it? Like, what will yield the most in grams, but still be good quality?

Also, how much should one expect to get from such a procedure, gram-wise?

make solvent hash with chilled 91% isopropyl alcohol in 3 separate washes of about 2-3 minutes each. filter, evap, scrape up goo and roll into a ball.

or make a bit of butane honey oil...

For best quality would probably be screening it.

No way, best quality is BHO. Post a pic of one of the nugs and we can all take crap shoots at how much oil you'll get. An oz of dank makes like 3-5 grams of oil. Regs I've never gotten great yield from, less than a gram of oil per ounce [which is like 10 grams of seeds], but I've never gotten 'mids'...

Depending on the quality of the weed, hash yields are around 5-15% of the original weight. BHO will be the most efficient, but if I were you, I would make BHO with 4oz and kief the other 4oz, and mix the two together. That way you get a high quality, putty-like product that is much easier to handle than BHO, and much easier to smoke than kief.

That's actually a pretty good idea...

There's really no point in making hash unless you want to experience the super high, or smuggle it long and risky distances.
