| Better Living Through Chemistry Discussions of any and all sorts of mind-warping chemicals, pills, booze, mind machines, trippy stuff, current street prices, importing pharmaceuticals, smart drugs, nutrients, herbs, and altered states. Please try to keep your conversations "theoretical" in nature, since this is an open conference. |

Legal extacy and amphetamines
Wouldn't that be great? Wouldn't it be even greater if you could get that and pass a drug test?
Well now you can. Sort of.
My understanding is that extacy floods the brain with serotonin and maybe dopamine and that amphetamines flood the brain with dopamine and noradrenaline, I think.
Recently I was doing some research on amino acids for myself (amino acids are building blocks of protein).
Here's two which I found interesting.
l-theanine - theanine increases brain serotonin, dopamine, GABA levels and has micromolar affinities for AMPA, Kainate and NMDA receptors.
l-tyrosine - In the adrenal gland, tyrosine is converted to levodopa by the enzyme tyrosine hydroxylase (TH).
What is levodopa?
Levodopa is used as a prodrug to increase dopamine levels for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, since it is able to cross the blood-brain barrier, whereas dopamine itself cannot.
L-DOPA is produced from the amino acid tyrosine by the enzyme tyrosine hydroxylase. It is also the precursor molecule for the catecholamine neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine (noradrenaline), and the hormone epinephrine (adrenaline). Dopamine is formed by the decarboxylation of L-DOPA.
I read somewhere but can't find the link, that for l-dopa to be converted in to all the good brain chemicals it needs the good stuff such as folate, iron, vitamin Bsomething and maybe 1 or 2 other things, or maybe not. I do remember that everything it needed was found in a quality multivitamin tablet. I don't think this applies to the l-theanine, but it might.
So, there you have it, you can replicate the effects of either extacy or amphetamines by taking amino acids and vitamins! You'd wanna get the dosages right and not go too far and fuck yourself up though.

Re: Legal extacy and amphetamines
Oh and they both cross the blood brain barrier.

Re: Legal extacy and amphetamines
JoePedo wrote a very full, comprehensive breakdown on this. He even went as far as giving full ingredients and dosage lists. I can't find the link right now but it's basically a massive expansion on your idea. Someone else has probably bookmarked it and can give a link.

Awesome if someone can find it. Did his plan work?

Re: Legal extacy and amphetamines
Thanks.
He talks about using phenylalanine not tyrosine, but tyrosine converts from phenylalanine.

Read the whole thing. And then do a search on part two of the thread.
I promise you'll learn a lot.

Re: Legal extacy and amphetamines
the first thread is titled "DL-Phenylalinine" and is NOT written by JoePedo (as far as i remember)
the 2nd part is called "DL-Phenylalinine: Part Deux" and IS written by JoePedo if i remember correctly...

Neither thread was made by joepedo, but he was the only one really keeping the threads going.

Re: Legal extacy and amphetamines
It's pretty sweet, here's some compiled data, I think some other guy made a better compilation on like page 47 of the origional DLPA thread, but basically heres the least you need to know:
Dosage, times, way of dosing list that worked for me:
T+0:Magnisium: 250 under the tounge for 15 min then spit out
T+15: DLPA-1000mg (parachuted)
Iron-65 (parachuted)
Folic Acid: 800mg (parachuted)
Niacin-125 (parachuted)
Caffeine:16oz coffee or 2 tsp coffee grounds
3 tomato leaves (chewed, stored under tounge, 5 min later swallowed)
T+30 1 more tomato leaf
T+45 1 more tomato leaf (usually effects kick in around this point, if not 15 min later I eat another leaf)
Positive effects: 1st time is amazing, if you dose 500mg vitamin c and 1 tablet 5-htp (something like 30mg, Joe uses sunflower seed extract instead, I think because it's cheaper) it seems to improve the experience. Basically my first time I felt the most confident I've ever felt and the most adrenaline filled I've ever felt.
Negetive effects: Fucking niacin flush. People are like "oh wtf is that!", if I dose too close to when school starts and it just doesn't feel that great. Also, it can get a little speedy but I think you can remedy that with St. Johns wort but I don't know the exact dosage.
Uh, here are some other peoples ingrediant lists:
Dr. Suidides list:
Niacin - 125mg
Iron - 65mg
Magnesium - 125mg
Folic Acid - 800mg
Caffeine - 200mg
L-Tyrosine - 1200mg
1 green potato.
She Devil
L-tyrosine (500 mg)
Iron (57 mg)
In a multivitamin:
Iron 18mg
Niacin (B3) 20mg
Vitamin B6 2mg
Folic Acid (Folate) 400mcg
Magnesium 100mg
SublimeNirvana
1/2 Green Potato - rest should be spaced over the next few hours
350mg Magnesium
St. John's Wort
Wait an hour(ish)
500 mg l-pa
72 mg iron
200 mg niacin
1.6 mg folic acid (1600 ug)
+30 minutes
400 mg Caffiene
Anyways, this is how Joe explains it to work:
Tyrosine ortho-hydroxylase (TOH/T3H/TyH/other abbreviations) :
machine that makes dopamine
Iron :
fuel type 1 for T3H
Niacin :
recycles fuel type 2 for T3H
Folic acid :
produces fuel type 2 for T3H
AChE inhibitors/ACh agonists :
builds moar T3H
Magnesium :
- keeps dopamine from burning out your pleasure center. (1)
- makes you more dopamine sensitive. (2)
- makes T3H work more efficiently. (3)
Dopamine :
happy juice. Released by all drugs with abuse potential. You can only release as much as you have - but you can make as much as you want
Anyways, there are a lot of naysayers, but it also worked for a lot of people. The only think I'm still worried about/don't understand is the toxicity of the tomato leafs. The only source I found talking about them said you'd have to eat "a lot" of them for it to become toxic, so I don't know the specifics. I don't do this every day either because if seems to be only effective when I get enough sleep.

Re: Legal extacy and amphetamines
I actually really enjoyed taking the dose at first, it felt a mix between opiates and amphetamines. It also potentiated both. After a couple weeks it simply stopped working, I think my body got used to it.

MDMA works by reversing the 5-HT Reuptake proteins. It's only mildly an agonist. What joe was talking about was making D1 and D2 agonists.
It has also been found that injecting spontaneously hypertensive mice with theanine significantly lowered levels of 5-hydroxyindoles in the brain.(wikipedia, 1)
I wonder if this is counterintuitive?
