I was just watching Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas for like, the 15012359712390568th time, and I'm wondering if anyone has heard of anybody actually ingesting pinneal gland in any form?

I've looked around, and it seems that Adrenachrome is bullshit and wouldn't do anything close to the effects portrayed in the movie. So I'm wondering if the pinneal gland thing is phony too, or what the fuck.

As far as I know, there is little actual research to backup the notion that DMT is produced in the pineal gland (I assume that's what you're getting at). Rick Strassman has simply hypothesized it. In any case, there are easier and less... disgusting ways to go about getting DMT. See: mimosa hostilis, 'yopo' seeds, et al.

I'm sure people have ate the gland before, though. It would be interesting to observe the effects of it, if any. Especially of the freshly deceased.
