A while back I went to my doctor to try to get a script for adderal, but he prescribed me ritalin instead. Both ritalin/concerta stimulated and motivated me(without the wanted benefit of added focus), but also made me tense/edgy/feeling like shit.
Again I requested a switch, and he has put me on dexedrine, which i don't know much about. It has def. improved my mood/focus, but the effects seem sedative, sometimes to the point I downright have trouble staying awake. I would think this atypical of a stimulant, does it seem likely the dex is responsible? (There could be a few other confounds at play) Does anyone have any experience with this drug, and should I keep trying to switch to adderal/other alternatives?

I've tried Concerta for about a month, buying some from a girl I know - but she ran out and now I am search for something different or more. But I did see significant improvements, like, big..time - I'm a horrid underachiever.. can't do something that was expected of me if all hell broke down and I had to save everything.

P.s think I should tell him about how I took it in the past?

No no no. If you want to get a script for something, you do not mention any drug names in particular. Especially something like dexedrine or adderall. Otherwise you'll get a drug-seeking notice on your medical record, which you do not want. Tell the doctor something along the lines of you're finding it really hard to concentrate at school, so your grades are shit and you want to know if there's anything that could help you focus at.
He will probably start you out on Ritalin/Concerta. Just go along with it, wait a couple of weeks and tell him it's not working for you. Find out some of the side-effects of ritalin and tell him you've got those. Then he'll try out something new. If it's decent, stick with it. If not, repeat the process, but wait longer before you tell him this one isn't working (maybe a month or so), so it seems like you are actually giving it a chance first, instead of just looking for abusable stims.

The key is to act dumb, and to go along with what the doctor suggests.

I've got pretty good grades but i got the script by telling the doc of my extreme disorganization and the fact i am ridiculously prone to losing things. He switched me from concerta when i mentioned it was helping my drive, but not my focus.

To give you some actual feedback:

Dexedrine is the same thing as adderall, arguably better even. Look up how adderall is composed of multiple amphetamine salts. Dexedrine is just one of these salts (the fastest acting I believe).

There is no reason you should be getting tired on dexedrine unless your doses are really low like 5-10mg... if you want recreation start at around 30mg. You'll feel that.

My friend gave me 10 mg adderall and I felt tired

My dose is at 40 mg a day....a 5 mg tablet in the morning, a 15 mg spansule capsule soon after, another capsule a little later, then another 5 mg in the evening. I can't tell if the dex is actually making me tired or if the duration is extremely short acting, leading to rebound fatigue.

i find adderal doesn't make you too wired, it like slows you down and makes you concentrate.. im sure its not the same for everyone, dexedrine owns it as far as im concerned. its like three fifths of a meth buzz..
