Default Kratom Thread

I'm getting 1g of 30x Kratom. How much (leaves, extract, whatever) do people take to feel anything from this? What ope is it comparable to? I have heard people say it's like hydro, and others say it's complete wank, so your thoughts please...

Never mind, I had the whole gram about an hour ago. Tasted gross, but pod tea is worse. I've read about people getting nausea from kratom so I made myself some ginger tea and drank that, no nausea yet. The kratom is pretty damn good - it feels like about 50-60mg of hydro without the intense itching (still some, but nowhere near as much as with real opes). I was expecting to feel very drowsy from it, but I had 300mgs of provigil before so that must be why I'm not. All in all, it's like a very clear-headed hydro high. It would definitely be a good opiate potentiator; when I get my hands on oxy for the first time (hopefully sometime this week), I'll try 0.5g with 15mgs.

Pretty expensive, but I wanted to try it out. It's good, but not worth the price they're charging.

Yeah thats a rip off. You will be better off with whole/crushed leaf and grinding it your self then putting it in capsule if you cant swallo the powdered kratom.

I've tried it a couple times with friends. Don't know how big the dosage was, quite a bit. We put it in our drinks and I could barely drink mine, the shit tastes like ass. From what I've heard it isn't even worth it unless you could find another way to get it down.

I'm still mildly feeling it, after like 6 hours. It's definitely the best 'legal high' IMO, although the extract I had was way too expensive. I might get powdered leaf, which is a lot more economical. Kratom would definitely be a good potentiator for low-dose opiates.

1/5-1/4 of the gram will get you nice.

i don't know the method of extraction used so perhaps the nauseating side chemicals might not be present.

but i can assure you that if you eat the whole thing you will vomit violently.

Also every time after Kratom/extract use my stomach is fucked up for a day or so...and there is a sort of a hangover involved.

It also feels a bit depressing for several days after use though.

But let me tell you, the high is comparable to a nice dose of (insert-opiate) here. Your head spins, you feel calm, and eventually drift into very peaceful sleep.

Nope, I had the whole gram. I was expecting some kind of nausea but I pre-emptively drank some ginger tea and felt completely fine throughout.

But let me tell you, the high is comparable to a nice dose of hydro. Your head spins (nope, no spinning), you feel calm (very), and eventually drift into very peaceful sleep (nope, but like I said, that may be due to the provigil I had before).

Feel free to post your experiences, recommendations, and suggestions of good deals found on the web.

Half a year or so ago i made a thread about the contamination of kratom supply with inactive bullshit.

To this day still i'm having a hard time finding good old bali!!!

I knew a guy that sent out really nice bali at 20$ per 50 grams.

I have shopped around on eBay to find most of the bali sucks, unless you get leaf and do it yourself. (which can go for up to 30/oz). I have bought stuff on ebay and the quality sucks ass, particularly common is feeling a very upset stomach (be it because of presumed pesticides, additives, poor storage, mold, contaminants, poor crop ect.)

Malaysian is a nice substitute for bali, but that is also frequently mislabeled or shit-ass expensive. Mad

I have also tried Maeng Da which is a class of its own... 1.5 grams feels like 7 grams of Thai. With even an even cleaner feel... sometimes i mix in 1 gram of Maeng Da w/ 3-4 grams of Bali for a very nice synergy between the two.:)

in my favorite recipe

.5-1 gram Maeng-Da + 5 grams Malaysian (or bail in most cases where Malaysian is out of reach)

Inside a large mug, with a dish over it to contain the heat from the (added) hot water. This is occasionally stirred, and in one hour is to be run twice through coffee filters.

resulting tea is drank, and in half to an hour time delayed vision is what i get. Like with alcohol, slow vision, you move your head and the image follows, very intoxicated choppy vision...yet quite calm unlike alcohol.

...

I've just ordered 25gms of premium Bali and 25gms of maeng da, gonna mix it up evenly and powder it up. How much of this mix do you reckon would be a good amount to brew up, seeing as an entire gram of 30x extract felt really good and didn't cause any nausea? Around 7 grams?

considering you are looking for an opiate like high, maeng da will disappoint you. It is quite unique as far as Kratom experiences go, its like the unexpected sativa bag to a seasoned couch-weed smoker.

1-2 grams is approximately the amount i use straight up.

few grams of bali(4-5g) itself, with a sprinkle(.5g) of Maeng Da will do you well.

Make sure to filter well, as the foliage has a tendency to cause upset gut and stomach the day after use.

Where did you buy from if you dont mind me asking, as that makes quite a bit of difference between what you should expect?

In fact its not uncommon for vendors to sell Bunk Bali, or mix in other herbs into the Whole sale product to bulk it up.

The subsequent vendors don't even know that the product is low in potency.

I'm not exactly looking for an opiate high, that's just what I'd read from other people's experiences and was therefore expecting. It did turn out to be like a good dose of hydro, but I like the clearheaded relaxation of the kratom buzz itself. I got this 50g batch of leaf to potentiate/combine with oxy, morphine and codeine (when I run out of the other two). I got it from everyonedoesit.com - they're pretty good. Although they're kinda expensive, their products are always high quality.

E: Ave2, do you just steep the leaves in hot water, or do you boil them? And do you add any lemon juice?

(using leaves works well for a chew, you have to moisten them first BTW)

For tea you should grind them well, into a fine powder....and DO NOT use an electric coffee grinder. Use, if you have, a manual coffee grinder or a mortar and pastel can also suffice.

proceed to steep in hot (not boiling water). With a dish/cover over the cup.

finally, I have never added lemon juice, but did add letchin a few times with inconclusive results.

Stay away from spicy or acidic additives as they will add to the upset stomach. (you will see the day after, what i mean)

Depending on the type of work i have to do, at times I enjoy Low doses of Maeng Da mixed within a thermos of coffee.

I find that Kratom use has a tenancy to numb the mind(speech and creativity), days after use so i have stopped its use for a little bit. (Though I am very in touch with my shifts in my consciousnesses and perception. I also value my sobriety to a large degree nowadays)

Why not an electric coffee grinder? It's all I've got.

Why not an electric coffee grinder? It's all I've got.

I have ordered sample sets of various kratom types (foliage/grinds). And have sampled 3 different online vendors before settling on a really good one(went out of business after the whole tainted bali was bought by the large distribution company, to prevent loosing business from the low wholesale prices the competitor was offering.

Alot if not most of competing herbal sites get their Kratom from one wholesale importer. After recognizing
the Bali was bunk, many started mixing it in to the regular crap, to bulk up the order, and make some money back.

The friction and the heat generated burns the precious plant, lowering the quality and reducing potency. Not to mention alters the taste.

I have come to enjoy the earthy flavor of the tea, and can taste differences in different types of kratom.

(If that is all you have, and cant improvise, do so on very short intervals, with frequent breaks in between.)

Also the greener and the more bitter the product is the better. Bali seems to be an exception
If you happen to accidentally inhale some dust powder a sweet/musky aftertaste can at times signify poor quality particularly with the Thai/Maeng-Da strains.

A moldy bitter hint in the scent frequently suggests the crop has gone bad, and the quality is reduced(Bali). And a hint of [sweet(not really best i can describe)/ kinda herbally (not really best i can describe)] kind of taste hints at adulteration.

Most vendors on eBay don't know how to grind/sift the product so i don't trust them.
I have only partial experience with the Malaysian and so far have a difficult time making an opinion based on the one batch i have had.

In that case, I'm just going to brew it for longer without grinding it up.

Would it be against the totse law to discuss kratom sources, considering it's legal and all? Because I would love to know who the good vendors are. The one I'm getting it from has decent prices and the stuff seems okay enough, but I guess I can't really compare it to anything since it's the only place I've ordered from.

Use the forum search engine and search for previous kratom threads...

In regards to things that have been stated in this thread: If your making tea, you don’t need to powder the leaf. Just brew the whole/crushed leaf in a pot using enough water (water dependent on how much material your using) and always do a second re-simmer before you discard the leaves.

You want have fine powder if you plan to TnW.

Adding a teaspoon of lemon juice will help to pull out some extra alkaloids. I personally have not noticed much of difference when lemon was used and when is wasn't. I just tend to add it for the taste.

And lastly, kratom is considerably different then your traditional opioid, quite frankly is childish to compare two.

.peace.

What does TnW mean?

I know that it's different to opes. I only said it because when I was reading up on kratom, many sources said that the primary alkaloid, mitragynine (sp?), is a mu-receptor agonist, causing some opiate-like effects. But like I said before, I like kratom's effects by themselves, not just because they are similar to those of opes.

Brooklynboy, have you tried maeng da?

Toss and Wash.

And I understand about kratom affecting mu opioid receptors but still that doesn’t make it an opiate… there are several botanicals that affect mu opioid receptors, for example red clover -but that doesn’t classify red clover as an opiate.

And to answer your last question, yes, I have tried the maeng da. -It’s a strong leaf, strongly active at low doses (2-4grams) and provides a very energetic experience.

However the maeng da isn’t all that spectacular, being that the duration is considerably shorter compared to other strains. Personally, I’d prefer a quality premium Thai or Malaysian over the maeng da.

.peace.

I thought that the actives in kratom mainly affect the delta receptors and at higher doses mu cross over occurs?
