I am about to get a nice quanity of mushrooms, and My cousin is going to hold on to them for unmentionable reasons. I am going to sent her 1000 USD, and I am looking for the best way to store them for oh say 6 months.

I know you can store them for a long time when they are dried.

One of my friends parents had mushrooms that were over 10 years old and we all ate them ,and they were incredible. I was thinking in a jar, in the dark in a basement.

I was thinking about having her buy a vaccum sealer for the jars.

Not if they're completely dry.

Your only getting 4oz for 1000$, what arip off. You should get around a full pound.

Enemy of Mushrooms is Oxygen. replace the oxygen in the jar with un-harmful CO2

Take some mason jars and some small pieces of dry ice

Place the dry ice in the jar and the mushrooms around it try not to let them touch the dry ice. SET the lid on while it's subliminating (sp?)

DO NOT screw the lid on unless you like glass all over the place.

Once it's done and theres a layer of CO2 filling up the jar screw the lid on tight and store in a dark cool place for as long as you need

Cheaper than an vaccum sealer.
