What could I be doing better?
As of late, almost all of the joints I roll have had really harsh smoke that usually has me and whoever im with in coughing tears near the end. It's not just my lungs because often my friends will roll joints that will smoke like a cigarette.
I've been using 3x5 note cards as filters and have played with the length and thickness, tried different strains, tried rolling thinner joints, played with the firmness of the packing and so far i've got no luck.
Anyone with a better knowledge of rolling have any advice?
it's probably time to invest in a good glass pipe.

Re: What could I be doing better?
Do you use tobacco in joints? If not, you should do.
And it gets harsher the nearer the roach it gets, hotter smoke.

Re: What could I be doing better?
Use cigarette tobacco because you can toast it before adding it to the joint. Run a lighter over the cig quickly, not allowing it to burn, for about 30 seconds, so that the paper goes brown/black. This dries out the tobacco and you can crumble it up into powder, pretty much, and make much more evenly-smoking joints as the tobacco fills up any gaps between the weed. I've never had a joint canoe on me since I started doing this. It also makes the baccy smoother, as I never cough when it's toasted, but I always do when it's not.

Re: What could I be doing better?
I just roll a bunch of pinner joints and smoke them quickly rather than smoke a big fat one and risk having it not smoke properly/canoe
But toasting tobacco and using the powder to fill the gap is a good idea.

Re: What could I be doing better?
Joints are always harsh for people who just started smoking them.

Why do you say "as of late"? and
What happens to the smoke harshness when you roll a thinner joint?

nah, I'm not new to rolling. When I started a while back I was able to smoke everything I rolled with next to no coughing/harsh smoke.
But i bought a new strain that smoked harsh as hell, and since then despite having strain variety etc, its just been burning the fuck out of my lungs to the point where I almost throw up. After a minute or two its as if nothing happened but I still dont know where to go.
mixing tobacco would be a good idea. and playing around with the thick/thin-ness of the joint hasnt really changed much for me.
