Now, this is a stereotype that doesn't totally make sense in my head. I've met probably as many fat stoners as I have thin ones. Lets face it.. when you smoke a lot of bud and get the munchies, you tend to eat a lot of junk.

In my experience though.. I seem to put on weight during periods where I'm giving smoking a rest, despite the fact I'm probably eating less or a similar amount. Why is this the case?

yeah theres loads of skinny stoners. Alot of people don't have the money or are just too lazy to eat when they're stoned. Thats the way I was. I was always starving but either I didn't have any money or I was too lazy to go back to my house and get food. The trick is to have money on you when your stoned or else don't stray too far from your house.

I think you just have the impression your eating less. You were probably too stoned to remember every time you ate. When you eat something you like like tacos or mashed potatoes you'll remember but the case usually is you eat whatever the fuck you can find so its nothing worth remembering.

not on any amphetamines, the only real stimulants in my diet are nicotine and caffeine but those really don't make me less hungry.... i eat a shit load of food when i have the munchies, i think i average somewhere in the 3000 calorie or more a day...

Fuckin hell. I'm 5'11 and 175 lbs. I'm not even fat. I have a belly but I have less blubber than most. I did gain 30 lbs since I quit smoking weed though.

It's a stereotype, just that. I don't think there's any generalization you can make about stoners except that we all love getting high.

And for me, weed doesn't even affect my appetite anymore except for that quick ten minutes of munchies after a good bowl but it's not an overwhelming urge anymore. Food simply tastes better when I'm high.

I have a serious problem eating without it. I've been without for about 4 days now, and I didn't eat ANYTHING yesterday, and managed to cram down some easter dinner today. I just can't eat. I want to eat, I am hungry, I just can't.

i dont think there's really a stereotype that pot users are skinny though. i think other drugs make the drug user image in general skinny. so when people think pot they think drugs, and when they think drugs they think skinny. i know a few marijuana using blimps though..

Yes. I am a testament. I lost 20 lbs on the marijuana diet. Food without weed tastes shitty, so I just never ate lunch, a little dinner, then munched out at night..

Does it seem odd to anyone else that the munchies are a product of the society you are in? For example, in jamaica, marijuana is considered an apetite suppressant.

I heard somewhere that THC increases you metabolism, so if you don't eat while your stoned you will prob. lose weight. Best way IMO to kill the munchies is a menthol cigarette and bottle of water.

If you're stoned and going for chips or fast food or whatever, you're probably either going to not gain weight or gain alot of weight, depending upon your body type. Also inactivity will put you at one of those two extremes.

I don't think theres any correlation to the two, but when I used to smoke like every day, I was around 5'9 and 130lbs. I almost never smoke pot now and I'm 5'11-6' and 160+lbs.

I'm pretty sure a suppressed appetite is one of the effects of smoking. Every time I stop smoking for a while my appetite shoots way up.

Also, what somebody else said about eating many times in smaller quantities speeding up your metabolism.

Fat stoners are usually addicted to fast food, because they're always going on bowl cruises to Burger King and they just have no willpower.

Either they put a lot of tobacco in their joints, or they forget they were hungry in the first place.

i eat 3 full meals a day plus a bunch of shit. i am like 5'9 130-135 lbs tho. between my insane metabolism n the fact that i am doing manual labor for 8 hours a day kinda kill all the fat on me

There has been times when I could not, and my weight didn't change either.

The only time I loose weight is in the summer when its super hot and since I work outside all day, I loose weight.

I actually cant eat when im high. But I eat whatever the fuck I want when I want and I'm fine with my weight. I don't ever seem to see any change in my weight so there's no sense in changing my diet.
