ive done shrooms but never tried acid
done shrooms around 5 times and have never had a bad trip
which ones easier to slip into?
how do you guys talk yourself out of these?

i have never had a really bad acid trip. but i have had a few moments of pure terror with mushrooms. when i start to have a bad trip i smoke some bud and think about happy shit.

I can't give you a right answer, but my opinion is acid. Even though i am sure you can have a bad trip on either one.

you're likely to have a bad trip when the trip is stronger that you're prepared for.

so it'll be more likely on potent mushrooms than weak acid, and more likely on potent acid than weak mushrooms.

but the biggest factors affecting your trip are set and setting. set being your mindset in the few days/weeks before your trip and setting being the actual physical environment of your trip.

Personally, I find bad mushroom trips more likely because I find mushrooms to be a much more confusing and disorienting trip than acid. That said, I've had bad trips on both in high enough doses or poor settings.

Edit - And yeah, Ativan (or any benzo really) can help during a difficult trip. It doesn't so much "bring you down" as it gives you a grounding in reality, which can be extremely beneficial to someone who is "that far gone."

Bad outlook or something bad happening during the trip. Its all in your head, just go for a ride and try not to jump out of the seat.

I've personally never had a bad trip from anything but weed.

It was only the very first times I smoked it though, I wasn't used to feeling a "new consciousness" so when my heart sped up and my mind went out into space, I freaked out and thought I was going to die. More of a panic attack than a bad trip, really.

Whenever I get scared on acid or mushrooms, I just get a huge thrill out of it, and it makes the trip that much better.

I'd have to say acid can give you a higher chance of a bad trip though, unless you do a ridiculously high dose of mushrooms.

Both can work.

I wouldn't just take it before, because it will DEFINITELY diminish the trip, but if you're really having a rough time and the trip just isn't fun anymore, sometimes they're a good way to keep tripping but calm down a bit.

Again, I wouldn't take them within the first two hours of taking the dose. Unfortunately, this is the period where you're highly susceptible to negative emotions. Toughing it out through the come-up can really pay off though and lead to an awesomely intense trip.

But of course, if it proves too much, pop that pill.

Definitely mushrooms in my opinion. Kind of make me schizoid at times.
