Just curious....possession-wise, what's the penalty?

There's a website that lists them, but it's not very comprehensive....So I'm curious about other states besides mine and I wanted to hear from real people anyway.

In Oregon (where I live), possession of less than an ounce is not a 'crime', it's a 'violation' and they write you a $500 ticket (and usually take your pot). No court, just have to pay the fine. Doesn't go on your record or anything, thank God.

When I stayed in Nevada for a couple months, I was told that possession of ANY amount was a mandatory 7 day jail and fines.

So what's yours like?

Well, it's fortunately been decriminalized here in Minnesota. It's only a petty misdemeanor now, they just take it and fine you (if that).

Over 18 - confiscated.
Under 18 - arrested and a caution.

They recently changed the law to where if you get caught with 28g's or less, a cop can decide to let you go with just a warning, whereas before they had to give you ticket and/or arrest you. My friend just recently got caught with a quarter on him, but all they did was confiscate his weed and give him a paraphenalia charge which was like... $50. Not too bad.

Yea, one of the PCSO's in my town just says as long as you aren't causing trouble and aren't blatantly smoking in public, then he just lets you off and tells you to go somewhere else.
