Leonotis leonurus AKA Lion's Tail

Wild Dagga is smoked or made into a medicinal tea by the Hottentot tribe of South Africa. Because of its euphoric effects, Wild Dagga is often referred to as a Cannabis substitute.

Leonotis leonurus (Wild Dagga, Lion's Tail) species is also used in Eastern medicine as euphoriant, purgative, and vermifuge.

It's mildly euphoric, if you drink a lot it makes you feel as if you were hypnotically relaxed.

I find it effective only if completely sober. That means that to even have a coffee 3 hours before will alter it's affects and potentially negate them.
If you insist on getting it, go with a tea. The taste is wretched. In fact it's the worst plant i've tasted next to mescaline cactus. If you're going to do a tea, try to boil the contents down to a sludge so that it can be taken down in 1 or 2 big gulps.

If you want to try smoking it, you may be dissapointed. It is somewhat similar to cannabis for the first 2 minutes, then it's just an uncomfortable haze. My preferred method was to roll a joint using cannabis and dagga, with the dagga situated around the filter. That way I just smoked until I tasted the dagga, then I knew it was time to throw out the J. It helped me to burn all the weed I rolled, and not inhale nasty smoke from the cardboard filter.

If you're buying it for the hypnotic focus it gives, or it's alleged similarity to cannabis, then you're setting yourself up for a letdown. If you just want hypnotic focus, then Mitragyna Speciosa ( Kratom) F.T.W.

Wild Dagga is worthless imo. It looks kind of cool though.

i just was reading about it and it interested me, i do not smoke pot anymore and understand its not even in the same class. all i do now is drink, but always nice to try new things, but only legal things for me. figured i might give this a try, my only hopes is it may be a nice way to relax before bed or something to that effect. i ordered 3grams of wild dagga resin (10X). i'll let you know what i think about it after i give it a try. the site that i ordered it from seems pretty cool tho, lots of herbs, plants, resins, etc that people have been using forever in diffrent cultures, (all legal/ but check local laws) http://www.bouncingbearbotanicals.com/

If you insist on getting dagga, get the flowers. They work much better than the foilage.

Even then they aren't really recreational. I've never tried the tea, but I've smoked it. By the time you smoke enough to feel anything decent, you want to lay on the floor and vomit.

I got my wild dagga from IAS and the tea I made from it at the most tasted slightly too sweet, so don't know how it could be that horrible. Try making amanita muscaria tea, and you will know what tastes horrible.

I beg to differ. Until you've had Calea Zacatechichi tea, you have no idea what horrible tastes like.
