What are you talking about, Saturday wasn't the REAL St. Patrick's Day. Just because everyone's got work/school tomorrow doesn't mean you can't party.

Good thing I don't live in Ireland, and good thing it was only religious activities. Did you even read the article? Only religious celebrations honoring St. Paddy were to be affected.

Do you know anything about the festival in Ireland?
They're shitfaced March 13-17 every year, no matter what. The official holiday (the one celebrated by everyone else) was the 15th this year.

Re: Happy St. Patrick's Day
The religious holiday was moved, meaning that churches that wanted to have events honoring the saint should have done so on the 15th, but the secular holiday stayed the same.

In Ireland, the religious holiday is celebrated by vomiting green beer and corned beef all over the country, with some Catholic stuff thrown in. The big parade and such will still be today, but the official day know as St. Patrick's Day was on the 15th. Today is just a festival.
So when someone says, "Happy St. Patrick's Day!" today, they're wrong.
EDIT: And the feast was on the 15th. So that's like us having the Thanksgiving parade on the third saturday in November and calling it Thanksgiving, despite us having the feast on thursday.

That's exactly what I said. The religious holiday was on Saturday and the secular holiday is today.
