Just been reading up on the local news and came across an article about people OD'ing on H in the local area (Brighton, England) due to unexpected purity [1]. According to the article

"A shocking report suggested that one in 50 people in the city habitually used heroin or crack cocaine."

With a population of 247820 (2001) [2] this seems like a large amount, which got me wondering how it compares to other cities around the world. I was unable to find any sources for cannabis, MDMA or cocaine use in the city, but from personal experience, it's a larger amount than H and crack.

Anyone got any statistics for where they're from?

I personally wouldn't bother listening to many statistics about drugs. Either they are biased and influenced by Government programs, or people will just lie about their drug use to avoid being judged.

It's hard to put a number on what people do, i just say a general awareness of your surroundings should tell you the general idea of what types of drugs people do, and how much they do it.

I can't give numbers, but I've seen in my hometown that main drugs for teenagers are marijuana and pharmies. There is widespread abuse of crack and cocaine, and in the late 80s half of my city became a violent ghetto due to the crack problems there. Heroin use is on the rise, and speed is huge once you head into the more rural areas.

Most government statistics are way off regarding drug use.

in my town weed is everywhere, my school has alot of potheads... pharms are also very easy to get ahold of...

coke is around but you have to know people to get it.... similar thing with psychedelics like acid and shrooms you have to know the couple of people that have it out of the couple thousand at the school...
