Default well this is pretty ironic

So some of you guys might know that I started taking 300mg seroquel/night about 3 weeks ago because some shrink basically diagnosed me with being manic bipolar.

Anyways....

So the reason I had to see the shrink was because my dad found an adderall shell in an empty shoe box in my old room. I live in a completely different city and go to school. Anyways he started picking up that i smoke pot and all. He then threatened to cut off all of his support unless i saw this stupid shrink. I dunno, what the hell.

I agree I have manic tendencies but I don't think I'm bipolar and I don't think I need to take 300mg of seroquel per night. I told my dad this and about the side effects it causes me. He's a doctor.... specializes in internal medicine and rheumatology. He told me to quit the seroquel and he'd give me a better script....

Ironic thing. He just gave me a script of 60-2mg Kolonopins/month. He just gave me the bottle today. In addition is a script of 60 12.5mg Chlorodiazepoxide tablets/month. Two refills on each.

WTF IS WRONG WITH HIM? I dunno if I wanna be taking the shit. Ive been really liking the way benzos calm me down recently. I have so much stress from school and my research work... they completely loosen me up.

Should I even start taking the kpins and shit, or is the addiction potential too high?

Your dad is a fucking asshole.

He found a single adderal cap, came to his own conclusion that you smoke weed, and for this forced you to go see a shrink!!!! Now, up to that part.... he is just a regular asshole, but it gets worse.

He then tells you that this professional is wrong, and changes your script completely to a drug that will just, make you do what the fuck you want!!! Also, Benzo's are physically addictive, what a dick move on your dads part.

Can I suggest eating 30-2mg clonazepam and showing him where the real problems lie!?

Find a way to covertly get back on seroquel. Sell the kpins at inflated prices.

But yeah, your dad's a dick.

Well, after he found the adderall shell, which was atleast 2 years old, he started accusing me of being addicted to meth and whatnot. Around the same time he started picking up I was smoking pot. I dunno...it's pretty messed up. He's all tied up in his stocks and money and shit to really care enough to make decent judgments. He's one of those pop a pill and everything will be better doctors.

I really don't understand his logic....

Maybe I should just convert the pins into cash. Magically of course....

^^THIS!! Benzo addiction is something one does NOT want to get into.

Yeah... I've never really had a physical addiction. I like the occasional opiate, but benzos are great as well. I'm used to them sparingly being around, just every few weeks. Now I have benzos around every day for 3 months....

I guess I really shouldn't take them. I would like them around for when I experience manic episodes or whatnot, but not as regular script.

I still have my seroquel. I'm almost 21, so my meds are my meds. I still have most of my script, but I don't think I need 300mg. It causes me to have tremors in the morning, and kinda puts me in a zombie mode. I would like to cut my 300's into 4'ths and only take 75mg.

Everyone I seem to see is medicine happy!

I don't get these shrinks who immediately prescribe medications. The way I see it, medication should be used as a last resort, and only when it can be proved that the problem is physiological, not psychological.

21? And still with this shit? I understand if you are underage, but you need to tell your dad to go fuck himself. Fuck his money, and fuck his ignorant fucking advice. Tell him what kind of dr he is, and tell him he is most certainly NOT fucking qualified to hand out kpins, and especially to his own family.

If he threatens you with that stupid shit again, threaten to expose him for bad practice by prescribing a drug he knows nothing about, his field has nothing to do with at all, AND for prescribing to a family member, all very big no nos than can really fuck up a drs career.

If he still gives you shit, actually report the motherfucker, then he won't HAVE any money to hold over your head.

Then I suggest you punch that dumb fucker in the mouth AFICBYDT style, just midsentence fucking blast that dumb faggot.

Don't get on the kpins really, you don't want that type of habit, and your dad is fucking scum for not only feeding that shit to his own flesh and blood, but also for trying to substitute what he thinks is an addiction with a wholly new addiction.

Wow, what a failing fucking faggot your were born to.

Dude OP good for you for having overcome such defective genes as his. You've obviously been raised in this exact same manner and it's been like this your entire life, and yet you were still intelligent enough to just simply stop and think about things before just blindly following the advice of a doctor, or parent, in this case both in one.

+1 for thinking for yourself. And if you want to continue to do that, I highly advise against taking any of those drugs you listed, because as fun as benzos and all those good little downers are, they seem to have a nasty habit of making those who take them to just give in and conform to the "norms" of society because frankly, they are too stoned to give a shit either way.

Not to mention the long term changes benzos will do to your body. Now, I say this without a shred of medical evidence (though I am sure I could dig something up) but from my own personal experience. Long term benzo usage DOES change who you are, and RARELY for the better, unless you are the type of guy to either stab someone, or piss your pants in a confrontation over a parking spot. Then, yeah, you need those benzos and the changes they bring, but IMHO, and judging from experience and the evidence that I personally have seen, long term benzo use has no real benefit.

Anything that would be causing feelings strong enough to warrant their use can be worked out over time, and overcome. I'm sure you know this already, but they are only a quick fix to alleviate uncomfortable emotional stress WHILE the root cause of said stress is determined and worked through.

But, like your dumb ass father, every dr seems to think you can just throw chemicals at a problem.

Husband beat you? Heres some xanax. Got asshole kids? Here, give em these amps, or this meth. Have chronic pain? Here, eat all these opiates.

To hell with leaving, or even shooting the abusive husband, to hell with beating your kids ass and making them a decent person, and to hell with any actual real physical therapy, because we can just throw one of these drugs at it, and it will go away.

And then these pieces of shit have the fucking gall to point their finger at so called "illicit drug" users. Condemning grown men with jobs houses and successful lives for smoking pot, while at the same time writing out a script for desoxyn for little asshole junior, and a script of xanax for mommy instead of just shaking that dumb bitch and telling her what the fuck she is doing wrong.

Thanks, and I completely agree. It's this whole thinking that a chemical is the fix for everything. Every doctor wants to give you your own little philosopher's stone which will take all your problems away, just by taking a little pill. They don't seem to care for consequences, they merely think of the "right now". I hate this medicated Western society....

so you're saying he's a doctor but he thought his son was addicted to a drug that's not addictive.. i'm pretty sure the OP just said he found out he had been smoking weed. not that he was addicted to it, fucking idiot.

Believe it or not, people in the medical field do think marijuana is an addictive substance. Not in a psyhical sense but in a mental sense. Man that is not even the fucking point of the post. The point was that his father was trying to put him on a very addicting substance. People often do not understand that weed is not as bad as it is made out to be. Because of the stigma around and it being illegal. So some people even doctors assume its is very addictive mentally.
If you apply your logic crack is not addictive either.

What are you going to tell the op now, that kpins are not addictive. you going to tell me weed is good for you to?

Weed is totally good for you, and I stand by that statement. 14 years of smoking, and I am a better person for it.

It's just strange logic. My dad caught on that I smoke weed a few month ago. Then he found the adderall shell. Lately I've been tryin to gain weight because I'm a pretty thin guy, and I think my dad just made some retarded assumptions in that I must be addicted to meth as well. I have to say, my hometown is in the 417, a meth riddled piece of shit.

It's just strange logic, and I also don't wanna get hooked on the pins.

Yeah it zombifies the fuck out of me. I hate it. And I'm positive my shrink gave me way too high of a starting dose of 300mg. The side effects have been so bad lately that I've decided to cut the pills in 4ths and take only 75mg. I'm probably going to stop it all together because I honestly don't think I need it. I'll see the shrink one more time, but last time I went she mentioned lithium and some shit and I wanna stay the fuck away from all that. I just don't think I need those kind of meds.

I'll probably keep the kpins for when I need them. I really don't want to get hooked or take them regularly though.

WTF is up with shrinks like these? They see a patient for 45 minutes and then immediately give them strong mood altering drugs. I always thought that psychology was about helping a patient realize their issues and helping them resolve them. And, if needed, giving them a presciption if they [the shrink] thinks it's a psysiological problem.
