Going for blunt rides and listening to NPR
is now one of my favorite hobbies. why did i never do this before? it's so relaxing, you get to know more about the world around you, and i tend to get so drawn into whatever they're talking about at the moment because there are always a lot of great storytellers on NPR. makes for a great 25 minutes. anyway, i have a question; do most people find NPR boring while stoned? cause i must admit, although i love doing it i wouldn't necessarily turn on NPR on a blunt ride with my friends, i assume they'd be bored :/

Re: Going for blunt rides and listening to NPR
NPR isn't music (at least i haven't heard music on it?) it's like, news stories and interviews and stuff like that. that's why i pointed it out, i kinda like listening to it more than music because the stories really draw you in when you're smoking.

Your fucking faggot man, i bet you listen to black guys saying words to feed there crack habit, and its all fucking sweet cause there talking about guns n hoes n crack, and you think its heaps cool.
The peeps i listen to are actually saying something, they do it for the love, not the cred, or crack, these people actually make there music, they put time and effort into it, unlike the gangster fuckwits who say a couple of words that rhyme and say how much crack they smoke.
And then there are the white trash that listen to this piss in a feeble attempt at looking cool or someshit, so shut the fuck up.

Isn't it like a talk radio kind of thing?I listen to rush limbaugh/sean hannity for talk radio entertainment. If you dont know who that is they are like far right conservative radio hosts. Im a republican, but not a hardcore conservative like they are. Strictly entertainment.

Some NPR stations do have music, i think it depends on the station. The one around where i live has a jazz program every weeknight. It's good shit, plus isn't praire home companion on NPR?
btw, the little fresh air diddy the play annoys the fuck out of me

I kinda know what ya mean OP, I love smokin a B on a sunny day driving around in my caddy listening to some good music...
What do I like even more? about 12-16mg of Dilaudid and kicking back listening to the audio copies of Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" series on my iPod, I can get lost in a light nod and the vividly imaginative storyline brought to life by S. King's detailed descriptions, good way to kill noddin time, love it....

Re: Going for blunt rides and listening to NPR
lots of people around here go on "blunt routes" on the outskirts of town.
it's just chill. no one ever gets pulled over. if you go a few miles out in the right directions, you go through miles and miles of rolling hills. no one really is around. i can recall at least once where we have stopped in the middle of the road and just rolled a few joints and no one was around for the good part of an hour.

Re: Going for blunt rides and listening to NPR
Any decent Minnesotan listens to 89.3 The Current (MPR). It owns, sober or high. B96 is shit rap, KDWB plays the same songs over and over again, Cities 97 has a boner for U2 and the Fray, 93X wants to suck on Linkin Parks cock, and since Drive 105 is gone, the Current is the only option.
But yeah NPR is cool high...so is reading though.

NPR is always kickass, especially when smoking.
And for anyone from Chicago/surrounding areas (I've even picked it up across the way in Michigan) check out 89.5 or http://www.vocalo.org. It's mostly listener submitted content (if not all, I'm not sure) and is a lot of stories or interviews interspersed with pretty good music.

Re: Going for blunt rides and listening to NPR
Funny how most people tried to hijack this thread to talk about what they like to listen to when on a blunt cruise...
But HELL YEAH to the thread starter. Obviously, it isnt what I do all the time but it is a great way to have philosophical high, which are my favorite anyway. With the right crew, a bleezie and NPR can turn a lazy afternoon into a serious discovery of understanding.
And to someone else, in most parts of the US there seem to be two NPRs available, one normally a local state university deal that plays all interviews, investigative reports, and maybe some BBC, the second is a mix of the aforementioned and classical music.
