my friend is offering to sell me 5 methadone pills that he had (not sure of the mg content). I don't know much about methadone, just that they give it to recovering heroin addicts. I've heard some people say its just as good as a hydro/oxycodone buzz, it just last longer. I've also heard some people its not worth taking, just give you a mad headache and gives you extreme nausea.

So. Is methadone worth taking recreationally?

Yes it definitely is.

Definitely. The only thing its good for is having sex. Its real hard to get it up and you don't feel anything. Its like heroin just without the initial kick. It slowly creeps up on you and the buzz goes up and down and the peak lasts about 6 hours and the aftereffects last about 24 hours. Its one of the best drugs I've ever done taking into consideration the fact that it lasts longer than speed and doesn't give half the comedown speed does.

Yeah they're recreational. It's a very long lasting opiod. The onset is VERY slow, so don't redose if you don't feel anything quickly enough. In my experiences, the euphoria comes at around 2-3 hours of ingestion, and lasts up to 12 hours. I'd say if you're not experienced with it, don't redose within 12 hours, always wait whole a day. The reason for this is because even when the euphoria wears off, a large portion of the methadone is still in your system; people sometimes overdose this way. It can be tricky and take advantage of a novice, so be aware.

I'd say if you don't do opiates too often, or have a negligible tolerance, take 10mg your first time. It is ruthlessly known for causing extreme nausea when someone takes it for his first or second time, so maybe have something around for that. Take it on a light stomach to be sure (but not FULL stomach, only light). it produces a very nice euphoria, Although much more clouded than oxy or hydros.

Expect to pay around $0.50 per mg. Possibly more. If the person selling them is stupid, you can probably get a good deal.

I meant to say the only thing its NOT good for is having sex. If its your first time don't expect too much. Its real subtle and mild before it hits the peak. It hits the peak after 5 hours maximum but the peak will last a good 8 hours after that. It goes up and down so if at one point you don't feel stoned anymore don't worry the buzz will come back.

Sometimes I get headaches and feel sick in the stomach after a about 10 hours. The solution to the sick stomach is to puke up whatevers in your stomach. I don't know any ways of getting rid of the headaches though.

Like someone said above, be very careful with dosing. With the amount of time it usually takes to reach the threshold and the duration of the effects can make it easy for a person to overdose.

My rule of thumb was to always wait at least 2-3 hours before re-dosing methadone, when I used to try it out. Be very careful with it. If you overdo it, you are going to be stuck with the effects that will usually last 24 hours, that can possibly linger for up to 2-3 days.

Be very, very careful! The LD-50 (Lethal dose) of Methadone for the average opiate naive individual is only 50mg.

So definitely start low. 10-20mg max.

Methadone is a tricky drug. It is highly recreational for some, but for others it only has minor opiate effects even at high dosages.

The only way you will know you like it is to try it. Methadone cant be compared to hydro or Oxy at all IMO. The high is more subtle and sedating than either Oxy or Hydro, and like others have said the onset is slow. It takes four hours to reach peak plasma levels. SO DONT redose. The duration is 24-36 hours although the high will wear off after around 12-15 hours, but you can kick it back in sometimes if you smoke a J. Wait a full 36 hours before you redose or you could possibly OD.

If you take 50mg of hydrocodone to get high, then 15mg-20mg should be plenty, probaly more than enough.

When I first started fuckin with methadone I thought it sucked dick. I wouldnt get thast familar warmth inside and the extra kick of energy. Then after about a week of use (they were all I could score) and my body got used to that paticular opiod I noticed the warmth and glow about two hours after dosing.

Beware these will increase your tolerence fast, but if all you have is 5 pills and cant get anymore dont worry about increasing your tolerence.

Definetly call poison control to find out what mg they are if they dont say "methadose and the mg#". They are either 5mg or 10mg, the 40mg biscuts have been pulled from pharmaccies and reserved for maintenence purposes at MMT clinics.

I really, really like methadone. I only took 10mg last night, but combined with a bit of weed, I felt amazingly warm and euphoric. Thought about nothing all night and itched myself away to happiness :D No nausea, no headache. I feel great!

BTW, I just took 10mg more. Shouldn't it be a little bit stronger since I took the other dose about 12 hours ago?

Yeah since it lasts such a long time you can take more the next day and the effect stacks up. By taking more the next morning you can easily get as stoned or more stoned than you were the night before. Make sure you don't take it every day for more than a week straight though because its as addictive as heroin and the withdrawal is 10 times worse than heroin.

I know what you mean when you say it gives you a warm feeling. I always get this buzz in my stomach when I'm on the shit. Sometimes I itch so much in the middle of the night I wake up the next morning with scratches all over me. It even gets slightly psychedelic when your lying in bed about to go to sleep.

Yeah smoking weed with it intensifies it a good bit. Drinking helps too. If you do drink with it though make sure you have access to water because it gives extreme dry mouth. I'm not even exaggerating when I say its nearly like the drymouth the guy gets in Me, Myself and Irene when he takes his anti schizo pills.

Funny that this is in here. I just picked a few of the little 5mg pills. I know it's pretty unnecessary because of methadone's high oral bioavailability but I just pulled off my first shot using one of them about 20 minutes ago, definitely recreational.

There was no real rush from the shot, which I knew beforehand but the onset of the drug was immediate and that's all I really wanted.

I have absolutely no opiate tolerance right now too so I'm feeling good.

I will use them if they're the only thing around and I don't want to get sick.

But they never worked much for my pain, and they certainly don't have the high that the better opiates have.

Not to mention they're a shitty thing to get addicted to, since - from all I've been told - methadone is harder to get off and has worse w/d's.
