Grilled Cheese + Weed
I've been trying Leary Biscuits and loving them. It's great to be high all day on such small effort. So I was thinking of improving the recipe, and of course the obvious choice was grilled cheese. Haven't tried it yet because I hate wasting weed, but I'd like to know if anyone else has tried.
The only reason I'm not sure if it will work is the type of cheese, and the cheese possibly not getting enough heat to release the THC into the milkfat. I used two slices of cheddar cheese for the Leary biscuit and that works great. But cheddar cheese doesn't make a great grilled cheese sandwich, so the only other choices I can think of are American or Provolone. American isn't a "real" cheese, more of a food product, so I'm skeptical as to whether or not it can release the THC, and I've never tried making grilled cheese with Provolone.
Thoughts?

Re: Grilled Cheese + Weed
Try provolone or swiss cheese. I think those are the only mainstream yellow cheeses with a high fat content that are fit for grilled cheese sandwiches.

Re: Grilled Cheese + Weed
I tried it once, but it didn't work
I cooked it with swiss and used a shitload of butter, put the heat on then cranked it after the cheese started to melt so I could give the THC a lot of time to diffuse into the cheese. I cooked it in about 45 minutes.
It tasted like absolute shit, too. Didn't get me high though.
How much weed do you plan to use?

Re: Grilled Cheese + Weed
On a completely nondrug related note, I made a grilled cheese with provolone once and didn't find it very tasty (and I love provolone).

Re: Grilled Cheese + Weed
Cannabutter + Grilled cheese = very very high. Seriously, just melt some cannabutter and use it to grill the sandwich. Throw in some fried ham and your set.
The butter does not make it taste funny either.

Re: Grilled Cheese + Weed
my first thought was to try making weed bread instead of putting it in the cheese.
i'm not experienced enough in weed baking to know if that'd be feasible, but if it was you could do all sorts of crazy stuff.
hmmm, now i really want to try and make some weed garlic bread...

Re: Grilled Cheese + Weed
Why dont you just make cannabutter and add it to anything that calls for butter?

Nah they're yellow. White cheese would be like riccotta.

Re: Grilled Cheese + Weed
Ok so I may be on to something here. As far as I know, there are 2 ways to make a grilled cheese.
The first being that you butter both slices of bread and put the cheese in the middle yada yada ya.
Another way is to melt some butter in the pan BEFORE you put in the bread (that hasn't been buttered). Now if you did this, and sprinkled some weed in there and let that butter fry, you've essentially made canabutter but then you just slap the bread + cheese on there and repeat for both sides.

Re: Grilled Cheese + Weed
ReD40: My recipe is to use Sharp Cheddar Cheese, A triscuit and ground up bud, as much as you feel necessary. Any cheese or cracker is fine, as long as the cheese is a "real" cheese, not a food product such as kraft singles. I like cheese below and above the weed just to make sure all sides get coated. Melt the cheese until it liquefies, usually 15-25 seconds in the microwave. Simple
I can't make cannabutter because I'm in college and we don't have an oven. I would be making grilled cheese on a george foreman grill. Haven't done it yet because I've basically decided to stick with whatever works. I'll just enjoy regular grilled cheese.

Re: Grilled Cheese + Weed
I made a grilled cheese with weed once. i used about 1.75 grams of some pretty good bud.
I just put the bud between the two slices of cheese and cooked it like a normal grilled cheese. I microwaved it too. On and off for a total of probably a minute. I really think this step helps quite a bit.
It tasted pretty foul.
While I was waiting for it to hit me, I took 3 hits out of my bowl. I was pretty high. And once the grilled cheese really hit me, I was watching colored headless people dance, and singing songs about headless people.
A++++++++ Would consume again.
(if i wasn't currently getting tested)
