FUCK fuck fuck

so a while ago (like 3 months) i unmounted and external HDD from my fc8 box. it got angry with me (ha..) and wouldnt detect the HDD. i thought it had just been corrupted, and took the loss and moved on.

today is the most recent time ive needed to use my USB ports, and i have now found that they do not work.

Ok.
Boot with a live Knoppix CD and check that the USB devices are detected. Then see if they will work there.
