What Kind of Vaporizer?
So my birthday's coming up and I'd thought I'd get myself a little present. I figured I want to top off my collection for awhile and get a Vaporizer. The thing I don't get it which one to buy.
I've heard of conduction ones, and the guy at the shop I go to said that, that'd probably be my best solution. The one they have at the shop is a little glass bulb on a box and on the inside there's a little copper plate. He said though there's a chance of burning my "tobacco".
The other one my friend told me about was a convection vape. How do these exactly work, does it just take hot air through the bud and that boils the stuff on the spot? Or is it something else?
Can someone elaborate all of this and help me make a decision?

Re: What Kind of Vaporizer?
I've tried 2 kinds: the hotplate one and one with a digital temperature setting. With the hotplate one, it was very easy to go too hot and burn it, which is basically smoking rather than vaping. The digital one on the other hand was awesome. I found out the vaporisation point of THC (around 390F, IIRC) and set it to that. It took like 2 minutes to warm up, and a green light goes off when its reached the set temperature. They're a lot more economical too; a pinch of weed about the size of my thumbnail lasted about 5 minutes before needing to be reloaded.

Re: What Kind of Vaporizer?
Which one in particular was the digital one? At the shop I go to in Cleveland they had a few digital ones, kinda expensive though. One's called the Vaporbros, another was "The Volcano", that was about $550 though, the other looks like a little microwave with a bag on top. Do the digital ones get alot of hits out've them?

Terrible choice, easily the worst vape along with the bc vaporizer. one temp setting can be burning weed at one session, next session same temp is barely vaping.
You want to vape weed then get something designed for weed, such as vaporbrothers, volcano, herbal-aire, maybe vapezilla
first 3 are best choices.

(Before you guys bitch, I know it's an old thread. No need to make a new one when one already exists.)
Is there any validity to this? Naturally, I read this, did a search and came back with plenty of positive reviews. Anybody actually OWN that vaporizer (or just used it) and can give an objective review on it? I'm thinking of getting one but don't feel like spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on one. If, in fact, the cheaper ones don't work at all (as this guy says), then I'll just stick with my $15 bong.

Re: What Kind of Vaporizer?
I think the best vaporizers out right now, if you're on a low budget, is either a Vaporstar or a VaporGenie. VaporGenie is more convenient and portable, but on the other hand the Vaporstar allow you to get big, bong-like vapor hits.Either one of these will be the best $50 you ever spent on a piece, IMO... unless you have the money to buy a top of the line such as a Volcano or Herbal-aire.

Re: What Kind of Vaporizer?
Vaporbros for sure. I owned one, my friend owns one and we both swear on it. I've heard great things about the volcano but that price range is kind of ridiculous. If you buy a box vaporizer, get the vapor bros.

Re: What Kind of Vaporizer?
I have a volcano and it is definitely worth it. You can get a used volcano for $350-400. You will make the money back eventually. People will always be putting weed in your volcano so you will be smoking for free all the time. The best part about it is if you break the volcano it costs like $60 to have it fixed which happened once to me - no matter how bad you fuck it up. If you buy a nice bong and it gets dropped the moneys gone.

well I like the digital aspect of the Vapir vapes. It's supposed to keep it at the right temp so you don't have to worry about inhaling it perfectly or holding the flame to it right or whatever. And I don't have the kind of expendable $ for a Volcano, which is why I was looking at the cheaper ones. I just want to make sure that portable one I was looking at works, and if the guy who said it's worthless is full of shit like I think he is.

well I really don't smoke with other people, and I've never dropped my bong so I don't think I'd drop a vaporizer (or anything else). I smoke with my gf and that's it. I just like the idea of having less smell, and not having all that smoke in my lungs. $350-400 is about $200-250 more than I'm willing to spend (at most)

Re: What Kind of Vaporizer?
Ok, if you want something cheaper:
http://vapolution.com/
Trust me this is the best vape for the price. I've tried a couple different things and owned the vapolution and a vapir along with the volcano. Lots of vapes in that price range are pieces of shit that will break quickly. DO NOT get a vapir - it will break and leak. Vapolution is durable as hell, small, and even comes with a car adapter lol. Also with vapoltion there is no plastic involved which is nice, with the vapir I was always worried about burning plastic because it smelled weird.

Re: What Kind of Vaporizer?
Definitely save your money and buy a volcano (classic solid valve, no need for digital and those easy valve things are crap). I've had two classic's (one broken) and got a digital one this year as a gift. Everybody loves them, and will want to use them all the time. If you do go cheaper, get a vaporbros.
All the cool kids use heatguns though

Re: What Kind of Vaporizer?
here to vouch for the HerbalAire. half the price of the volcano...and proven to get more out of your weed than a volcano. not nearly as big, and you can choose whether you want to use bags or just hit it straight off the vape. and if you buy from the right place (simple google) youll get a free VaporGenie with it, which is also great for vaping on the go.

for $150 you can get the new vapir one. Best vape for the money, IMO. If you got the money though, go for a volcano or the digital vaporfection.

get the vapobros one. volcanoes are top of the line and fuck you up but vapobros are also really good. and you don't need to get one with a digital temperature setting. my roomate freshman year had a vapobros vape with just the knob and we were able to get blazed off of that shit without burning it. granted it took a little time to figure out the best setting but we did figure it out in not too much time.

HerbalAire
This is another good vape in the range between the vaporbros. and the volcano.
granted it took a little time to figure out the best setting but we did figure it out in not too much time.
Most people like to keep it between 6-7.
