No more generic oxy being sold!!!!!
Its already in effect right now in jersey,is this happening all over the place now? These motherfuckers.I can get 120 generic 40's for 70 bucks. Now I have to pay 500 because it has to fucking say oxycontin on it.What the fuck.Is this permanent? Our gov't fucking blows. Please people enlighten me and tell me that this isnt going to be permanent.I think theyre trying to pull off a monopoly (perdue) so you cant buy any generics of the drug. This is gunna cause too much of an uprising.Fuck.

Re: No more generic oxy being sold!!!!!
Thats fucked if its true but something sounds off. I doubt the US gov't or any gov't would give Purdue exclusive rights to the production of a oxycodone XR products. They were sued after it came out they were lying to doctors and pushing them to prescribe Oxycontin b/c it was less addictive than instant release oxy, and they had to pay millions in settlements to dead oxy addicts' families. But they were looking to gain a monopoly on OC for a while somehow, and maybe the bastards have found some legal loophole that lets them extend their patent somehow. I hope not though, not only would OC be hard to use and gel up but also would cost even more than it does now. For shame, fuck you Purdue!

Meh, they all cost the same around here. 25 for a 40....20 if you're lucky. I prefer the "OC" more then the 92/93's. Smaller = less powder to snort.

Well, besides less powder, the Teva's (92/93) gel up like a MOTHERFUCKER...
I used to get past that by grinding it to a bloody pulp, making a solution of rum and lemon juice, turning on the mixer, lowering it into the cup, and pouring the goddamned Teva powder in while the mixer was on. Dissolved instantly, almost no gelling. Take that like a shot and I'd feel it in 15 minutes.

wouldnt withdrawals be prolonged with an extended release product? I though t it works like this: If its has a short duration of effect and halflife, withdrawals will be shor but intense. If it has long lasting effects and ahlf life, withdrawls will be longer but les
intense.

You do realize that besides the fact that they gel u instantly when they ht your nose that oxycodone has a lower intranasal bioavailability than*the oral bioavailability.

Well, withdrawals from oxy can last up to 2 weeks*. And the XR function of oxycontin- type products generally only prolong the effects by 6 hours or so. So yeah, I guess you could argue that OC withdrawals, when the time-release is undefeated, would last 2 weeks and 6 hours opposed to two weeks. :P
* yeah, keep your pants on, I know that's an extreme example, but it is possible.
Also, keep in mind that noone who uses OC to get high leaves the time-release intact, so there's really not much of a difference between the XR abusers and IR abusers.
The people with XR just have to do some prep work.

Thank the pharmaceutical lobby. The legal sales of it will mean Massive profits. it's not like there's ANY different chemical composition, its just a brand name.
Im sure somebody will bring in generic oxys into Jersey from a place that still has em'. Im sure it'll be more expensive than before, but it sure as hell wont be as much as name brand.
fucking lobbyists man
Pretty much.

Re: No more generic oxy being sold!!!!!
That's old news, but yeah it sucks for people that get prescribed them, but to me the buyer, the price for Purdue OC's and generic OC's is the same, so I don't care. ABG's will still be available, and they are better than any other generic by far, so it's still not that bad.

More like greedy drug dealers *cough* i mean pharmaceutical companies. They want all the OC money for themselves.

I can't see that as being a government thing since it would be a restriction of free trade.

Exactly, worst they can do is reschedule it, which they can't because it has a valid medical usage.

Re: No more generic oxy being sold!!!!!
I've never had a problem with the 92/93's. I just shave 'em down to nothing with a razor and make them nice and fine. I've never had this blue gel of death (to allude to the infamous "bsod"). I've noticed a few more boogers than normal, but not this ridiculous mess everyone keeps screaming about.
Oh, and do they actually have two coatings? I just noticed it the other day.

I THINK they do... As I was doin em with a razor the first layer seemed really smooth, then as I got farther in it got cratered like it was normal powder so I figured it was, but when I would put some moisture on it the pill would gel up. IME you have to get pretty far in to get to the oxy.

Re: No more generic oxy being sold!!!!!
They're still being given at pharmacies where I live. I thought it was weird myself because I heard they were discontinuing them. My friend got prescribed some weird looking generics that were round like the brand names but extremely thick. They were hard as hell, and I hurt my teeth trying to chomp down on one. My friend was using a hammer to crush up his to snort.
