Ecstasy and the immune system
is there a real connection between ecstasy and the weakining of the immune system? i started rolling about 6 months ago and i roll about once a month (usually around 4 tabs on the nights i do roll) ive always had a very strong immune system and almost was never sick - i have a pretty healthy diet and i exercise atleast twice a week, i am in shape. but for the past 3 months, ive been sick each of those months for almost a week for each illness and the odd thing is my friends aren't really getting sick... i preload and post load using 5-htp. i always roll at raves... i am guilty of sharing drinks and pacifiers with ladies (never guys) but i havent partied in two weeks and now im getting sick now! it isnt normal to get sick 3 times in 3 months! is ecstasy the issue? or am i just extremely unlucky? thanks :)

Re: Ecstasy and the immune system
Yeah, it can lower your immune system. I don't know the scientific facts, though, but I'm sure someone can provide a link.
Still, I do know that according to a recent study done in the Uk MDMA (ecstasy) is actually 18th out of the top 20 worst drugs for you (1 being heroin, 5 being alcohol, 11 being weed, etc). It also said that most test subject's brains, after not using the substance for a year, return completely back to normal without any apparent long term damage. My girlfriend cited the article recently, so I could ask her for the link when she shows up.
Basically, it may make you feel like complete shit the next day[s], but (in it's purest form) it's safer than alcohol by a long fucking shot, and should, in my opinion, be decriminalized, regulated, and sold in clubs. Just goes to show that there is no correlation between class and potential health risks...

It should be the new alcohol. You physically can't do MDMA every day - well, you can, but you'd be a fucking idiot - therefore, you wouldn't have the same 'drinking culture' we have now.
MDMA makes people happy, euphoric, and good willed; alcohol has ambiguous effects on people ranging from happy, to depressed, and even violent.
MDMA makes you alert, sensual, and makes listening to music more engaging. Alcohol makes you dim-witted, throw up, and makes people sing along to the fucking YMCA!
MDMA kills an almost insignificant amount of people every year; more people probably die from slipping over in the shower. Alcohol kills more people than any other drug every single year without fail.
MDMA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Alcohol.
Why do people know this, but do nothing about it?!

Ok, that increases your chances of getting sick (getting someone else's shit). Could be it.
but i havent partied in two weeks and now im getting sick now! it isnt normal to get sick 3 times in 3 months! is ecstasy the issue? or am i just extremely unlucky? thanks :)
Dunno. I'm not too familiar with how ecstasy affects the immune system, but I would assume it does in one way, shape, or form.
I would advise not sharing saliva with fellow ravers either. Bitches got all kinds of shit these days. :)
