I have had limited experiences with buying weed from a dealer. I normally just bummed some off my friends before i had connections, or just bout schwag in small amounts. My friend went out and bought a quarter oz , not knowing what it was. He paid like $60 for it i think. One of my friends saids he checks the weed to make sure its good(using visuals). Another said they usually wont buy unless they smoke it.(these friends buy in bigger quantities and good quality though). Is it customary to ask to smoke some/ inspect it before you hand over the cash?

Just buy a gram... it's ten bucks (or 15 if you live in crazyville) You probably waste that on a terrible movie every weekend.

Buy ten dollars worth, smoke half of it, and if you get more enjoyment out of it than going to see a shitty movie, then it is worth it, and you can proceed to buy more.

Around here it's normal to see/smell the bud before you buy.I've never heard of people "testing" the bud unless their buying a lot.

Yeah, I've only heard of people testing harder drugs such as coke or heroin, and even then only in larger amounts. Just look at it, you can usualy tell shitty weed from good weed by the look of it, as long as your not blowing fifty bucks+ on it it wont be a huge loss.

He'll probably let you take a look at it before you hand over the bills, but no, it is not really customary to sample weed before you buy, especially not for small quantities. Just buy a gram or something like others said and it's not a huge deal either way.
