It's probably not actually constricting, it just feels weird because it's all numbed up. I remember the first time I ever blew really good yak this happened to me and I started freaking out thinking it was meth or I had OD'ed or something cuz I felt like I couldn't breath. But either way, I did coke on the weekend and it was good, this was the second time I have felt high from the shit (probably my 15th attempt, long story) and my throat felt like it was coated in a thin layer of slightly warm wax, and it felt as though I had a shortness of breathe... it is just how decent cocaine is (I don't like cocaine at all now that I know how it feels) It feels like ecstasy... but all at once some how, which spells trouble for me... because when good E is around I always get a few fire ass chron bomb E's <--- filthy bragging

I agree with what some of the other posters said. The feeling of your throat "closing" or becoming constricted was probably just the coke dripping down into your throat and causing it to be numb. I've had the same thing happen to me when I used to snort it. It's nothing to worry about because it goes away after a little while and you're fine. The fact that coke is a stimulant and increases your heart rate and breathing would also make you feel like it's harder to breathe because your throat would feel numb from the coke that dripped into it. But it's nothing to worry about. You're fine.

To reduce that numbness in the back of your throat, when you're doing a line try to sniff UPwards instead of BACKwards. A lot of people toot way too hard and they end up swallowing a huge nasty drip. If you make sure your coke is of good quality, chop it up VERY fine, and snort upwards, you will have much better results.

(Imagine you have a runny nose, but you don't want any of the snot to go back into your throat when sniffing. It's like a short quick kind of sniffle upwards, that's where you want your blow to sit)

Most of the numbness is in your teeth and lips/face when you do it like this, rather than making your throat feel gaggy.

Do it properly and there shouldn't be much of a drip to taste/swallow at all.
