Seroquel's effects on other drugs
So, some of you people might know me. I rarely post because I'm a chem major and am extremely busy working on my research work in the lab.
anyways, a reallllly long story short: (backgroung info)
So I'm close to graduating. I don't live with my parents. My dad found an empty adderall capsule in my old room at his house. It was in some empty shoe box in my closet and was ATLEAST 2 years old.
Anyways, he's a doctor, and he's not american. He immediately accused me of being a meth addict, said he was cutting me off all support unless I saw a psychiatrist (he thought either i was addicted to meth, or manic bullshit). I can probably support myself, but it would be tough.
So I went to the psych, and she told me I was bipolar manic, blahblahblah. She perscribed me seroquel, built up to a regular dose of 300mg/day. Fuck that shit, its only been three days and I feel zombified.... more productive, but a fucking zombie.
Anyways, my dilema. I'm going to Ultra music fesival at the end of march, which i'm expecting to be a very pharmaceutical filled event. I've read all about seroquel, it's mechanism of action, all that bullshit (not much seems to be known). It blocks dopamine type 2 (D2) and serotonin type 2 (5-HT2) receptors. But I want to know, first hand experiences if possible, how seroquel effects other drugs. How many days do i have to stop to trip, or roll, or whatever? Can i just stop the shit cold turkey? Do I have to stop at all? Ive noticed i get way more stupid when high.... i don't really like the shit.
Let's hear it totse...

Re: Seroquel's effects on other drugs
stay far away from seroquel. you probably don't even need it so the (nonexistant) benefits really aren't making all the side effects worth it, now are they? i would call you stupid, but it's not your fault. that's how seroquel makes people think. i took it for a few months, at a fraction of the dose you're taking, and I HATED it. my stamina went to shit, i started sucking at all my sports, and like you say, became a zombie.
my advice: for now, just tongue the pills and pretend that everything's fine. maybe even tell your pops that the medicine is really helping you succeed. then when you're completely seroquel-free, evaluate your life, and figure out if you really need them. seroquel sucks for most people but for some, it really is the only thing that works. from what you've said, I doubt you are one of those people. but only you know for sure.

Re: Seroquel's effects on other drugs
i take 400 mg seroquel daily and i don't have a problem with it. it makes me really tired in the morning, but it's worth it because it really stablizes my mood.
if you don't think you need it, then don't take it. there's really no point in taking medicine unless you think it will benefit you. atleast ask for a smaller dose. 200 mg is WAY too much for someone who just got on it.

Re: Seroquel's effects on other drugs
Don't take Seroquel if you're tripping! It will kill off the trip being seroquel is an anti-psychotic.

Re: Seroquel's effects on other drugs
I only take 25-50mg occasionally, even then it leaves me w/ a hangover when I wake up. The stuff is evil, but when it's the only way I can sleep...
