Default If God could he would...

Suppose God exists. Can God create a rock so heavy that even he himself can not lift it?

If there is God, and if he were to attempt such a thing, it would require its placement in physical form. The answer is yes, because he could. In theory an object may be created as such, however under the presumption that God can do so a whole new structure would need to be created outside of time.

“It took ten minutes to walk from MacDonald’s to Burger King”
“The earth takes three hundred and sixty five days to circle the sun”

Is an object stationary?
Is it alive?

Time itself is used as a calculative. It is a measurement; a tool. If you are to calculate the measurement of form or if you are to suggest a fourth dimension in reality one can suggest that as there is movement, there is a calculable figure or shape to which is also a seminal shape, parallel to this shape and can be inverted if you take into account direction of one point ('O'-dimension) or of four points like a square.

It is suggested that as there is a point O, in order to for this to initiate. Because it can repeat itself it would require time measurement to achieve a required invariant.

In the occurrence of

time A - the invention of such structure
time B - in the event of such mass that B time(a stone of mass and structure that it is the whole form in place occurring between A and C in time)

time C – it has repeated

The collapsing of structure is not physical or elemental but particle and in theory requires a time trigger. The metric tensor is a central object in general relativity that describes the local geometry of space-time. Using approximation, the metric can also be thought of as representing the 'gravitational potential'. The metric is a symmetric tensor and is an important mathematical tool. As well as being used to raise and lower tensor appendices, it also generates the connections which are used to construct the geodesic equations of motion.

I believe time travel will be possible.

I believe you can only travel back as far as when the time travel device was switched on.

I believe the first (and perhaps only) thing that will be able to safely travel through time will be information.

This will have such a devastating impact on the world if you think about it. Technology and knowledge will make a near infinite jump in a matter of days. If a time travel device were built tommorrow, and all it could transmit was information, and it was switched on; we would receive information, scientific and historical discoveries and other important information in a matter of minutes that can cover a nearly infinite time span (or at least until the sun burns out, and the universe collapses).

In the first day of turning the time machine on we would receive information that would make every piece of technology on Earth obsolete, waaaaay obsolete.

I don't know shit about mathematics, so I skipped most of that.

However my answer would be: God is transcendent. He is beyond any limited human concept you have of space, mass & time. As pointed out in the book of Job, He has infinite understanding; you do not.

Imagine people can only percieve things in x's and y's with their limited logic and senses. This forces them to come to incorrect conclusions much of the time. But God sees the whole fucking alphabet

Perhaps you should spen less time reading Jewish folk tales and more time understanding the underlying mathematical structure of the entire universe.

Mathematical understanding of the universe is nice...but it's just not very useful if one lives for life itself rather than ego. Does the gravitational constant help you keep peace with fellow man and smile more often? Does knowing what temperature specific materials turn into plasmas, gases, liquids, solids, Bose-Einstein condensates, etc. help you be at peace with those who seek to disrupt you? Does knowing the formulas for calculating momentum help you achieve serenity, relaxation, or tolerance for your fellow man? Does your understanding of the forces in a landslide help you save the poor fucks caught in the way of landslides?

I have plenty of learned information about the physical laws of nature, and plenty more about various theologies...it's useless in my life. Important is loving my fellow man and that which supports us all. Ya know...what you're supposed to learn in Kindergarten.

What is more important: Understanding a theology? understanding a field of science? Or showing love where possible?

It's not like I take them literally.

I believe he was talking about the Judeo-Christian God. While I don't know about mathematics, I know about the nature/characteristics of this God as described in their Holy Books and common beliefs. So despite not understanding mathematics, I had a meaningful answer to contribute.

A paradox remains between logical reasoning and faith in God i.e. a super-being with omnipotence.

You state this as if it will be shown in the rest of your post, but despite having read through your ramblings on physics, I see no arguments that are even distantly related to this.

Time B may prove that there is a prolonged duration in which C could take place as time being based on the duration between Point A and Point B there is in fact no Point B and B is merely the stopping of time. But how do you stop time and if time is also a quantity as it is form also K may be the structure of the thus understanding of physics; that there has to be a point in which time must stop:

It was after reading this that I realised you were talking BS.

Oh, and time dilation does not allow something to 'arrive at a point [in time] in which they arrived previously'.

To the Gnostic God is the Underlining reality that sustains all other realities. Switch on the time travel and we have another parallel reality, thats it. To the Gnostic its possible in your own way to find the underlining reality of all realities (usually by way of introspection, prayer, etc...). The Gnostic Christ called it The Kingdom of Heaven.

"The Kingdom of Heaven is right in front of you but you do not see it."

We do not see it because, we are constantly building our own realities instead of trying to find the Ultimate Reality. Now, Gnosticism is founded on a lot of things: Religion, Philosophy, Personal Experience, Metaphor, Sciences.

However, when we find the ultimate reality The Source is not there, instead he is nowhere because, the father is "in its own ballpark" so to speak.

But science already proved last year that Time doesn't really exist anyways.

There's a thread in NOTW I believe about it, but I don't feel like looking for it.

Yeah, a lot of physicists are developing theories of quantum mechanics WITHOUT invoking the notion of time, hoping to come up with a more unified "theory of everything".

Well, to stray off the topic, I'm spiritual and have always been taught that there is no time, there is just what has been, what is, and what is to come. So... in a way, Scientists are now figuring out what religion has been saying for centuries, just no one focuses on it because everyone is too busy whining about whether abortion or gay marriage is biblical/sound or whether this or that is inconsistent.

Well I don't know if I wanna call them angels or demons that we interact with on this plane. As a Christian, I would want to, but... growing up around buddhists, I always got shit for belief in angels and demons because they were like "You're making everything too right and wrong" because they thought the same spirit could help or harm you depending on your situation. But then again, for buddhists they were pretty confrontational because Constantine burned most of their sacred text or something crazy like that. It almost made me wanna ask if they sympathized with blacks who today thing they should be given something for slavery.

This moment is the only moment that exist! The past is over and when the future comes guess what it becomes the present.

It sad how people are ignoring the common ground to religion and science. I mean both want to arrive to the same thing: TRUTH!

So if I invent some crazy, irrational theory to use as a tool which I genuinely believe will help me find truth; the implications of it should be trusted anyway simply because I'm genuinely using it in an attempt to arrive at truth?

The common ground that we both want truth doesn't really stop any disagreements.

For the most part, science is based on less fallible premisis than religion.

Attention, Israel! This very day you are crossing the Jordan to enter the land and dispossess nations that are much bigger and stronger than you are. You're going to find huge cities with sky-high fortress-walls and gigantic people, descendants of the Anakites—you've heard all about them; you've heard the saying, "No one can stand up to an Anakite."

Today know this: God, your God, is crossing the river ahead of you—he's a consuming fire. He will destroy the nations, he will put them under your power. You will dispossess them and very quickly wipe them out, just as God promised you would. -Deuteronomy 9

Seriously?

The point was that if the foundation of physics is math, which is an unfounded assumption that only makes sense within the actual system, how can we trust anything that physics (or any true science for that matter) tells us?

If you have something that can explain what we see with such precision, that has withstood more tests, and that has better predictive power than this, I am all ears. Aside from that, I don't have the interest to answer questions ad-nauseam. I'm content with knowing that it seems you don't actually believe Godel "disproved math" or any such non-sense.

This is the exact attitude I was referring to in that other thread; it's irrelevant whether or not I believe that Godel disproved math.

Besides, what assumptions do you use to back up empiricism and these "tests"?

It may be irrelevant to this current discussion, of which I have no fucking interest in, but it's definitely not irrelevant - at least not to me and I frankly don't give a shit if you agree or not - whether someone else is spreading such inane bullshit to other people. I said I was glad it seemed you were joking and understood that what you had stated (Godel disproved math) was utterly wrong.

In other words, I don't care about your endless stream of questions or this discussion nor will I participate in it (unless you can provide me something better than math), I'm just glad you know what you said was wrong; I'm glad something good came out of it.

Yes I did edit my post... three fucking hours before you posted and just seven minutes after I made the post. Even ignoring this, I didn't claim I had "pushed you along" in the initial post; I essentially edited to add the second paragraph. Hell you can even read the previous post I made, which essentially repeats the same thing: that I was happy you knew it was wrong ("I'm content with knowing that it seems you don't actually believe Godel "disproved math" or any such non-sense."). Nothing about me "pushing you along" there either.

So, please spare me your bullshit; it's pathetic.
