Poppy pod tea sucks...
because people are only getting codiene when they make there tea. I was browsing around a few sites and came across this post. http://disc.420chan.org/opi/res/7749.html
If you add calciaum carbonate to your lightly boiling tea, it will turn out much better according to this post. If this is right, I think you will enjoy it much better :)
hope this helps a few people on here

you really dont know what you are talking about. All that is such a confusing matter that you probly wouldn't understand anyway. Lots of people get scammed.. I had no part in scamming anyone so whoever you heard that from is a complete dipshit or is just misinformed just like you. I get sick of having to explain myself about shit that happened a long time ago over and over again.
Most of that stuff I cannot talk about on totse anyway... so please back on my topic

like I said.. everyone that participates in all of that crap usually gets scammed at least once or twice. I am not sure what you think you know, but there was no scamming involved. Just a bunch of people trying to start problems and I dont even know why they did it? It's all really because I got mixed up in some things and I didn't know when to quit.
got to understand.. its a pretty big market.. Lots of people competing.
I really wish people would talk about poppy pod tea :(

Re: Poppy pod tea sucks...
Poppy seeds can very greatly in potency. It's virtually impossible to gauge the potency.
However, if you get lucky and get a good batch of seeds, you can get a buzz or even high off them.
I recommend using this recipe off my website.
Don't buy McCormicks brand or anything out of the grocery store. Buy them in bulk online or (if you can) at a nursery.

Your best bet though, is to make poppy pod tea.
Much stronger potency and more likely you'll get high.
Pods too are also virtually impossible to gauge their potency, so be careful.

yeah but did you read the article panthrax? most people arent getting the morphine out of the pods.. only the codiene. At least according to that post I found.

Yes, I read the article.
Morphine and other opiate compounds can break down (or literally off!) the seeds overtime and while processed.
The morphine content is of course on the outside of the seed from where the opium broke into the seed chamber during growth.
The seeds are kept for next years harvest, cooking, or for selling.
So the more they are handled, the more likely your morphine and codeine content is going to drop.
There are trace amounts of morphine and codeine inside the seed itself but not enough to worry about.
Seeds are literally a win or lose situation, that's why pods are the best.

Re: Poppy pod tea sucks...
But Morphine cannot be extracted from the plants by using just water or even lemon juice. You are just getting codiene. So if you throw in a couple of calcium carbonate tablets you while your are boiling your tea, you will get the morphine.
maybe I am just not reading your post right or something.
I understand how to make the tea. I am just trying to help make it a little better by adding some calcium. I am not sure if it will work, but I figured someone here would know that.

Re: Poppy pod tea sucks...
Here, this should make it easier. :D
This method has rocked even the most seasoned of users. Everyone has their own favorite recipe, this is mine:
Put:
1/2 cup dried pod grounds (+/- depending on tolerance, but I will write this up for the 1/2 cup user)
3 healthy squirts of lemon juice
1 capful white vinegar
2 shots 100+ proof liquor
500mg Calcium Carbonate
into a jar (I like spaghetti sauce jars...perfect size). Then add just enough cranberry (i like cranapple) juice to make it a nice slur (runny mush).
Shake this vigorously every few minutes for a duration of 20-25 mins. Then add 2 1/2 cups "nearly boiling" water. Careful, the glass will get hot and be sure to release pressure every so often. Shake this liquid slur every few minutes for 20 -25 mins. Strain through a t-shirt and chug. Chase it with grapefruit juice. in 20-30 mins... you receive a glowing gift from the SomniGod!
btw- this stuff stinks and tastes like hell. Chilling it and chugging helps. Also, the grapefruit juice kills bad taste almost instantly as well as being a potentiator.

yeah for sure. I would advise people to be careful with the pods if your using calcium carbonate, because it can make it a little stronger.

Y'know, there's a forum called Laboratory Tips. Not only do issues of solubility of a chemical compound go there...
...but more to the point - would you care to go there and explain to them how a methyl ester is somehow more polar than a bare hydroxyl group?
Now... calcium complexing is interesting... as a base, you'd expect it to just shift pH and precipitate all the alkaloids. Instead, it forms a complex with the opioid zwittwerion, and one ends up extracting solely the morphinan alkaloids - if memory serves. Which it may or may not, 'cause kilos of heroin aren't really a goal of mine or anything I give a shit about.
...but that's not exactly equivalent to a methyl ester being more polar than a hydroxyl group - which is the assertion you chose in the first line of the sentence, and something which calcium is rather unlikely to change.

this doesn't need to be in lab tips, because it is pretty simple. add a few calcium carbonate tabs in your teat? thats not difficult to do and I think it fits in better living through chemestry fine. Anyone that can make tea can use this recipe.

Re: Poppy pod tea sucks...
btw, i am not your son or a child.
You should see his usual response to such posts. He must've gotten his hands on a little lidocaine...
...anyways...
you are right i didn't read his post correctly. So calcium carbonate has no benefit what so ever?
Familiar with alkaloidal chemistry? Just the basic stuff?
Calcium carbonate is... a base. Drop it in solution, and it slurps the acid off the alkaloids like I was dosing liquid off your momma's nips last night, and prevents them - in their free base - from being soluble.
So... it keeps you from getting alkaloids in your tea. "Benefit" is often a bad word to use, since it depends on what you're trying to do, but it definately has an effect; it basifies the water and keeps alkaloids from dissolving. At all.
Now, crap with the morphinan nucleus, that's a bit different. It's an organic base, but it's a bit of a zwittwerion... and as you prior quoted, because of this, it has this really bizzare behavior or acting like an acid for forming soluble calcium salts.
To any sane chemist, this is slightly batshit insane - calcium is not known for having the most universally-soluble salts in any way, shape, or form, and one would expect something which is mostly a freebase alkaloid to make that even worse, even if it did form a complex of some sort. Nonetheless, it's empirically demonstrated, so hey... it's all good.
Remember that little tidbit about calcium and its salts. It may be on the test later.
So, we're preventing alkaloids from entering the tea, but drawing morphinan derivatives - morphine and codeine - into the water. As well as a lot of other non-alkaloidal crap, the way you set it out. You're not getting any more morphine - which I'm pretty willing to bet is more water-soluble than codeine - but you're getting a lot less thebaine, pavaprine, and other non-opiate opium alkaloids. "None at all" would be a pretty good estimate.
Apparently, some opeheads like it like that. 'n since the potency isn't really going to go down, that's all good... but you're not changing the morphine content.
Now, if one were really bored, one could make tea repeatedly with sodium bicarbonate solution, until the broth was colorless and flavorless, and then switch to tossing a basic calcium salt into the mix. Add citric acid 'till a precipitate is no longer formed, and one would have a fairly clean, clear aqueous solution consisting almost entirely of morphine citrate and codeine citrate. How does that work? Well - calcium citrate is not overly known to be water-soluble, so when the citric acid dissolves the complex and salts both the calcium and the opiods... there's no more calcium in your water. Since all other alkaloids were prevented by basic pH, and all non-alkaloidable water-soluble components were previously extracted, it's pretty clean. Toss in a little baking soda, extract the base with ether, gas out with a little sulfuric acid, and you should have relatively high-purity morphine sulfate. 'n some rocks of codeine base sitting in the filter paper.
So it's not that it has no effect... just that it has a different effect than you're claiming. If a good salt of morphine couldn't dissolve in water, no one would ever IV it, would they?
Yes, a base which forms soluble complexes with the morphinans will successfuly ensure that only these alkaloids make it into solution, via standard alkaloidal chemistry. 'n the really inventive psychonaut will probably pull the leftovers with lemon juice and find out wtf is left behind, which may be the far more interesting discovery...
...but you're not getting different amounts of morphine and codeine out of this. Just different amounts of other opiate alkaloids.

I am not familiar with alkaloidal chemistry, but thank you for clearing this up. Your post really did help.
