adderall/stimulants = acne / skin problems?
So if this isn't where this post belongs, I apologize.
I've been taking adderall off and on for about 1 1/2 years. I used to binge consistently, taking upwards of 70-90 mg a day... Ever since I discovered adderall, my nearly completely clear skin became subject to some of the worst acne i've ever experienced... absolutely NOTHING would help. Three trips to the dermatologist and all the pills and skin medications i could ever think of did nothing. It only worsened..
Only recently did i begin to link it back to adderall, and after doing some research on the internet, it seems like other people have this problem too.
As well as the impossible-to-control breakouts along my face, i also inherited quite painful acne-like sores over my shoulders and chest. On top of that, I have retained an absurd amount of water in my face, making it look completely bloated all of the time. I work out 5 days a week and am really lean, but my puffy, acne-ridden face kills any self-esteem i could ever hope for.
Does anyone else experience these same problems with stimulants after prolonged use?

Firstly you shouldn't use Adderall very much. I keep my use under control, once or twice a week max, usually only on days with important tests or Mondays. But anyway the reason I quoted that is because I had a couple of those, and they were really painful and if I tried to pop them the pain would be completely unbearable.
I'm not sure if mine are related to Adderall but eh

Re: adderall/stimulants = acne / skin problems?
Okay, first, my age really has nothing to do with this post, but I am 19, for those who wanted to know.
And I used to use adderall quite frequently (6-7 days a week, NOT prescribed...) i was severely addicted for several months before i began having crazy paranoia and hallucinations, so i cut back my use.... now I use 20-30 mg 2-3 times a week depending on tests and what not... regardless, my acne is still at its worst in all my life and seems to continue getting worse...
as of last week i stopped taking adderall completely, and i'm going to give it about a month to see if my skin clears up... i love stims, but its not worth it for the fucking skin problems.

Re: adderall/stimulants = acne / skin problems?
I was asking because of the fact, that with so many fuckin pubescent teenagers on Totse, if it was the factor of puberty.
Amphetamines can do that to some people though, it depends alot on your own body though, because some peoples body types react to amphetamines more so like that than others. I would just suggest cutting them out, which you already knew.

Re: adderall/stimulants = acne / skin problems?
ha well, i guess thats true... this place does seem to be fillled with ridiculous numbers of ignorant pre-teens. but no, its definately not puberty... and yes, I did assume it probably affects others differently. I suppose i'll just try the 30 days, no-stimulants plan and see how that affects me... if its all good by then i'll probably drop adderall for good, although its a shame, because its a tremendous help when in college and working 2 jobs 50+ hours a week.

I guess i just assumed people would understand I wasn't one of the pre-pubies because of my use of somewhat proper grammar... unlike those other "heeyyy my name is jeff i luvvvvvvv drrruggss!" posts, which just make me sick.
