Long-term effects of taking these daily?
Over the course of every day, I take the following:
1050mg Clindamycin
2000mg Cephalexin
200mg Minocycline
I realize the Clindamycin can cause diahrea, somehow I manage to avoid that. I don't eat very much, though.
No, I don't take it all at the same time. I take 150mg Clindamycin once about every 3 hours. I take 1000mg Cephalexin right after I get up, and 1000mg Cephalexin right before I go to bed. I take 100mg Minocycline after I wake up, and 100mg right before I go to bed.
Are there any negative long-term side-effects of taking these in such high doses daily?

All those antibiotics could kill off enough of the good bacteria in your intestines, creating an opportunity for some "bad" bacteria to take over, which is, of course, not good. But from what I understand, it is rare.

wiping out your intestinal flora. very real possibility. i would advise not staying on it for longer than needed. you won't notice the wiping out of your intestinal flora until years down the line...

Thanks Social and Vilbe.
I've been taking that much for quite a while now, do you think getting tested for Clostridium difficile is necessary? Like I said, I don't get diahrea or intestinal pains, but I also don't eat much.

Re: Long-term effects of taking these daily?
Fucking bacteria. Right now I am on 1000mgs of clarithomycin daily for 14 more days, and I also have to put some mupirocin antibiotic cream in my nose for some bullshit sinus infection.
I hate winter.
E: One of those antibiotics targets gram negative and the other targets gram positive bacteria so I should be feeling better pretty soon. At least I hope so...
My medical problems have left like 4 doctors perplexed so far.

Re: Long-term effects of taking these daily?
Taking large doses of antibiotics over a prolonged period of time could lower your natural immunity and resistance to certain ailments.
I forgot the term for it, but its something like antibiotic fever. However, if these are prescribed by a doctor, and you are taking it as directed, I doubt anything bad will happen to you. Most doctors are competent enough to prescribe basic antibiotics.
