Default Too Much Valium Causing Muscle Pain?

I have a prescription for Valium, I've been taking it for over 3 years now. Lately I have been taking more of it because it helps my nervous stomach with the Librium. I talked to my doctor about it, and since we finally found a combination of things that work for my stomach spasms then he prescribed it so I can take 3 of each a day.

I have panic attacks too though to the point where I just pass right out which I used to take Ativan for but I really didn't like the feeling of Ativan so I take the Valium instead, and things have been kind of stressful lately so I have been taking more than the 3 a day. They are just 5mg, if that helps any.

My muscles are killing me though for some reason. I used to run cross country back in high school and it feels like I just ran practice after a long day.

I'm not sure if I'm maybe taking too much Valium and it's having an opposite side effect, if it's the Librium I just started taking...I'm not really sure. Or, I don't know if this is plausible but it for a few days I took too much and now I'm balancing back out?

My diet is fine too, I don't eat any junk food, drink soda, nothing. I have to keep a close eye on what I eat because of my stomach problems. So I know it's not from eating shitty foods and then now feeling like crap.

The muscle pain is only in my legs too, which I find weird.

Default Re: Too Much Valium Causing Muscle Pain?

Diazepam has a series of side effects, as do all medications.

The most common side effects are blurred vision; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; fatigue; headaches; incoordination; pain, swelling, or redness at the injection site; short-term memory loss; weakness.

Notice how I underlined and used bolding on the word, "pain".

It doesn't specify what kind of pain but one could assume it could be muscle pain.

A skeletal muscle relaxant such as cyclobenzaprine or carisoprodol might help you or even an over-the-counter medication such as Aleve, Advil, or even Tylenol.

Soaking in a warm bath will help too.

You could also try using a heating-pad on the areas that hurt you the most.

Hope I helped.

Thanks panthrax!

It's so ridiculous how an anti-anxiety and muscle relaxer can cause pain.

I'm probably going to curl up in my heated blanket after work which unfortunately is midnight tonight. So hopefully the heat works. Thanks for the input, much appreciated.
