Default Does strain really matter when it comes to Mushrooms?

Now we all know about people waving about cannabis strains as if it means something, but when it comes to Mushrooms does strain actually mean something, or like weed does it just depend how well it's grown?

Cos soon I should be getting some shrooms, but I don't know which strain to get, or if it really matters that much. I'm stuck between choosing Colombians, Philippines, Tampanensis or McKennaii. Which, in your opinion, are best [if it matters]?

Potency definitely varies from strain to strain. It's all about how much psychoactive material is in them.

I can't find it, but shroomery had a wiki about a bunch of different strains.

Koh Samui super strain is supposed to be one of the most potent.

But yeah, shrooms vary from strain to strain big time.

Yeah, some have more active akaloids in them than others...

I always liked those small ones (LOL), I was told they where Hawaiian Cyans (the guy did grow them himself), I'm not 100% sure for myself though. Seemed stronger than the larger Mexi Cubes to me...

Of course strain matters.

It matters with what Williamsii cacti you are dealing with.

and what Cannabis strain you are dealing with.

I believe Cyanecenes(sp?) has the largest amount, about the ones you had I don't really know.

Strain doesn't matter at all. Species matters a whole lot. Any kind of cubensis strain is going to be roughly the same potency, the differences are negligible. But cyans or azures and other species have vastly different potencies than cubensis. But you're talking about cubensis, so it doesn't matter. Every strain vendor likes to hype their strain up but they are all the same, doing tissue isolations and growing properly is the only way to increase potency.
edit: I didn't see tampensis on your list. Are you planing to fruit those? cause they are difficult to get shrooms from.

No, if I get them I'll be buying the truffle.

Truffles are really hard to grow cause they have that whole symbiosis with trees.

And yeah, when talking about species, cubes are about medium high, p. mexicana is about medium, and p. azurescens and cyanscens are strong. Panaeolus is a different species, but it's really strong too.

What I think you are asking is whether different sex strains have different potencies. The answer is sort of. Potency is determined by genetics, so one "batch" of Golden Teachers might be more potent than a "batch" of B+, but you're not going to find a Golden teacher that is more potent than an average wavy. Think of sex strains like Black and White people, we are all homo sapiens, we can successfully have sex with each other, but we have just evolved differently.

Most confusion develops from the confusion between species(which is scientifically recognized) and sex strain(which is not)
