Default pot tests, comparing dipstick and lab

MAIN QUESTION:
If person showed negative result on a dipstick test, does that mean person passed a lab test?

STORY:
person has to pass drug tests every 2-4weeks, and person smoked marijuana once after each drug test. Then before each drug test person used a home drug test which is the dip-stick test. The drug tests that person take for 'random government agency' are probably sent to a lab? The agency supervising person is acting weird and person thinks that he/she may have failed his test, results and consequences 2morrow.

Lab urinalysis is usually done with a mass spectrometer, a lot more accurate than dip sticks. Some agencies use a dip test, and only send in samples if the dip stick shows something, MS tests are expensive.

so if they had me put stickers around the sample so it cant be tampered with does that mean they may dipstick test it first? or is it sent to a lab under that condition?
