Apparently this new prodrug made by Shire is going to replace Adderall XR as its flagship product.

They say they are going to target this product on 50% of the ADHD Market share. This could potentially affect my odds of procuring good ol fashioned adderall/dexedrine.

All i want to know is, has anyone tried this drug and what are its abuse potential.

A prodrug is a compound that turns into a different, more-active compound. For instance, codeine is a prodrug of morphine, because codeine is converted in vivo to morphine.

Lisdexamfetamine is dextro-amphetamine (the good stuff) attached to an amino acid. The amino acid basically renders the amphetamine inactive. When it is taken orally, the amino acid is stripped off, and what's left is dextro-amphetamine that works like normal. However, the amino acid is only cleaved off when taken orally, so if you were to snort or shoot the lisdexamfetamine, you'd have no (or little?) effect. It was designed, obviously, to reduce abuse.

However, thanks to ol' JP, we've established that the amino acid is really easily removed. Simply mix the Vyvanse with either an acidic or basic solution and evaporate., leaving you with plain dextro-amphetamine, ready for abuse.

Taking enough of this pill by itself will provide a very very long-term, more "sustained"-feeling d-amp experience, but it is definitely more worth your while to EVAPORATE THAT SHIT!!!!11

What I'm saying is, the pills on their own are not completely worthless, but with so little effort, why NOT bother?

so is vyvanse %50 lisdexamp and %50 dexamp?

No, its 100% lisdexamp, but can easily be converted into dexamp with very little effort.

And swallowing it turns it into dexamp anyway.

I used to take it, its alright but i prefer adderall. If you do get it prescribed you'll notice that there is no generic version for it which means its going to be expensive. What i did to get switched to adderall was say that it was working well, but just to expensive. You might even get really lucky and get dexadrine.

its a simple reflex in an acid or base will leave you with perfectly abusable dexedrine....

essentially your stomach does the same thing, the acid slowly hacks off the amino acid for the dextroamphetamine to be absorbed through the stomach..

it make take a few times to completely cleave off all of the amino acid..
