I always thought this would be easier than growing weed, and can sell for more. People usually know what a weed plant looks like and it has a distinct smell, everyone would just think the coca plant was some normal plant.

It's hard to grow in most areas of the U.S. as it requires a very specific type of weather pattern to grow well... Also, the plants generally do not produce a very high alkaloid content if they are not grown at a high altitude. Better to just import the leaves unless you are doing a big grow op.

While it is possible to grow coca in the US, remember, the yield of cocaine is dependent upon the altitude. If it doesn't grow in the right place, it won't yield as much cocaine!
