Well, basically I've been coughing up black phlegm for the past few months lately. I smoke pot, but not ciggeretes. It's solid black, I'm pretty sure its tar, not dried blood. I did some research on the 'net and I found out the most potheads with this problem cured it by switching from bongs to joints.

I'm also pretty sure its a good thing that I'm coughing this tar out, and not keeping it in. I think it has something to do with THC being a bronchial dilator.

Anyway, any information would be a nice help.

This used to happen to my friend. He hot a bong almost every single day, so that makes sense. Since then though, he's stopped smoking weed and cigarettes. I guess the only thing to do would be to switch to joints and see how it goes or stop smoking all together, which would be dumb.

I will probably never quit smoking my favorite herb. Maybe I'll just slowly save up my adderall money for 6 or 7 months and buy a a volcano vaporizer.

This doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Bongs give you bigger hits, but most people would smoke more out of a joint than they would a bong.

OP I smoke weed/tobacco (and a lot of it, at least 2 good joints and 2-3 packs of Lights) every day and have NEVER coughed up nothing BLACK, yellowish and brown sure, but BLACK?

And OP you are aware that one can use the old standard clear light-bulb meth-pipe as a cheap but efficient makeshift weed vaporizer, right?

I only smoke bongs now, and yes, my phlegm has been getting progressively blacker, like it looks like I worked in a coal mine black. Tomorrow morning I'll take a pic of the beautiful delight. I've never been a ciggerrete smoker, but I used to smoke crack and meth pretty often. Plus for about half my junior year in high school I smoked a half a day, easily. But I do believe the black phlegm to be from using the bong, as it all I use now. I think it also has something to do with that since I have a glass bong, I rarely ever use a screen, as I always loose my glass screens.

To Oxydose, yeah I'm aware of the meth bulb vaporizers, but I'm worried about chemical residue inside the bulb. Plus I was never that great at vaping weed in them. Meth for sure, but not pot.

And after working a alodine factory for a few months, I'm kinda leery of anodized aluminum pipes, since I was told anodine and alodine are very similiar, and trust me, you would not want to smoke from a aluminum pipe that has been coated in alodine. That is some nasty shit, even if the say the new trichromium format is "safe" I don't believe it.

If you do it right there will be no chemicals, just the glass...I dont think you can be good or bad at vaping weed in it, just hold the lighter till it fills up. But the one thing is I have found that it smells like absolute shit afterwards I fucking hate it.

Use a clear light bulb, or if it is a white frosty bulb then put some salt in it, and shake the shit out of it until all the white shit is out of it, then wash it out good and let it dry. All chems from the inside is now gone, no need to worry...

And yeah its a pretty shabby vaporizer, but does work, I think if I was hacking up black shit I'd make myself use one lol...

I've read similar information elsewhere, this NORML study is old. Besides, even though THC is fat soluble you will still lose some in the water.

It's not enough to make a difference for the high I don't think but what the NORML survey seemed to say was that it filters THC BETTER then it filters the tar. This means that it doesn't filter tar worth dick all(I never thought bongs did but that`s irrelevant). Still I need to do some more researching because the whole joint being less tar then a bong makes no sense to me. At the very least I'd think they were equal.

I also know many people(including the one xxombie knows) that cough black shit up. I never do / have and hope never to. I'd say wait for you doc appointment and see if there is anything wrong with you aside from smoking. Then make your choice.

Make a lightbulb vape and do more exercise....

Your lungs are probably quite full of tar.
