ok so i got my hands on some opium. i have been smoking it on top of my bowls but i feel like im wasting some of it. Im thinking of trying to put some on some foil and inhale throw a straw after i heat the bottom of the foil. I'm pretty sure this is called chasing the dragon. I just wanted to kno what you guys have done and what works the best? and has anyone chased the dragon off of some foil and if they could give some tips and hints on how a noob should do it thanks?

well you cant really "chase the dragon" with opium, thats more of a heroin thing.. opuim has too high of a flash point compared to chiva. you're better off just flattening out a little ball of opium and putting it in a bowl and smokin it.

I don't know about efficiency, but you can try this. Chew up a piece of gum and stick it onto a flat surface (table). Stick a sewing needle into it so it is sticking up. Roll up a small ball of ope to stick on top of the needle. Light it, let it burn for a second, then blow it out. QUICKLY cover it with a glass cup. Let the smoke build up inside the cup, then lift the corner of the cup and inhale the smoke using a straw.

You make reference to "black tar". Are you sure what you have is opium, and not black tar heroin? Does it have a faint vinegar smell?

thats the thing to do, i know

1. Put ball of opium on a pin or something. Have a straw in your mouth.
2. Heat a piece of wire over a candle until it is red hot.
3. Hold wire to ball of opium, breath in smoke.

This is how I was taught to do it, seems to work fine.
