Hi there! I's Got's a Theory for you lot!
First i'll just say that it's been a while since i last posted here - and that was under the username of Thunderhammer too.
This is probably the account everyone remembers me from though, but anyway, i'm not here for nostalgia.
I have a theory i'd like to share for discussion;
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/...php?tid=334577
If anyone is willing to provide me a CLEAR POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE on this matter, i'd be most pleased.
p.s; if you can't do that, please take this idea to somewhere else that they might be able to give you one.
And hi to anyone who missed me, although i consider that unlikely.

How about: CLEAR NEGATIVE. The guy in that post has little understanding of even basic physics. You can't use a vacuum as a magical power source, and it has altogether nothing to do with anti-gravity.

U wanna explain why?
p.s; i wonder if my announcing my username on ATS will affect the way that posters on there perceive me..
Probably not, now that i think about it.

Re: Hi there! I's Got's a Theory for you lot!
A vacuum doesn't contain any innate power of its own. The reason that air rushes into a vacuum isn't because it's sucked in, but because it's pushed in by the relatively higher pressure of all the other air around it.
This is also not related to gravity. Although gravity is the force that holds the Earth's atmosphere to the surface of the planet and gives rise to the situation described above by creating potential energy in the form of a thick blanket of air, we're basically talking about two separate kinds of forces here. Besides the fact that there's no atmosphere in space with which to take advantage of the effect of a vacuum -- space is one giant vacuum. No pressure differential = no potential energy.
Thus, a vacuum is not an energy source. And if you're talking about a vacuum cleaner, well that takes electricity to create suction in the first place, so again there is no possibility for a net gain of energy from that, no matter how many crazy arrangements of vacuums inside other vacuums you can come up with.

We all know that if you expose a vacuum to anything it will suck it in - that's what a vacuum does, that's what a vacuum is, and we know it does that because of Gravity.

I stopped reading after that

Ah, i see only those whom are worthy in the eyes of others are allowed to contribute to technological pursuits.
Perhaps you should give your elitism a bit of a work-around on this one and put some thought into how it could work.

Gravity functions in a vacuum though so this doesn't make sense.
Oh and like an above poster mentioned since there would be no difference in pressure there would be no suckage or blowage.

Nah...I think there's plenty of suckage and blowage in this idea. Somehow, it sucks and it blows all at the same time!

No, only those with a trivially basic understanding of science can. Making shit up isn't invention, it's fiction.
